The Walk

  On a foggy autumn night in Los Angeles, Meredith Blackwood stepped into the forest to begin her midnight stroll. It was an unnaturally foggy night, and it was almost pitch black, where the shadows of trees morphed into unfamiliar threatening shapes. Meredith was a little freaked out, as her friend Diana had been missing for 4 days now, and Meredith was starting to suspect the worst. These late night walks helped Meredith clear her mind, at least for a few hours. About 25 minutes into her walk, Meredith began to feel uneasy. As if, someone was watching her. Meredith brushed it off as paranoia about Diana's disappearance, and kept on walking, at a slightly quicker pace. A few minutes later, Meredith thought she could hear the faintest crunch of leaves about 100 yards behind her.
