"Oli what has your father been up to? I have been worried, haven't heard from him in a few months and Mary says he hasn't been with the pack in a while." Jasper looked up from the photo album he had been going through when Kathy turned her attention to the man still reading in the corner.

Watching Oliver lift his head Jasper saw the confusion flick onto his face, "You know I wouldn't know that." Kathy hummed setting her hand on Jasper's shoulder as she nodded, "Yes I suppose you're right." Looking back to the photos Jasper looked over the pictures of Oliver, the pictures showing him getting progressively younger.

On one page in particular Jasper noticed another boy standing beside Oliver in nearly all the pictures after that, "Kathy who is this?" Jasper's voice brought the woman's attention down, she sighed at seeing the old pictures.

"That would be Xavier. He is-uh, was Oliver's younger brother." Jasper looked up at the correction Kathy made.

"Was?" The sound of paper ripping made Jasper turn to see Oliver now holding the book in two pieces. His face blank as he stared at the torn book, "Oliver was 3 years older than Xavier, their mother was sick during his birth and didn't make it through the night. Oliver was forced to take over caring for Xavier when Quail gave up after his mate's death. When Oliver was 15 there was a particularly brutal rogue attack on their pack-" Kathy paused when Oliver growled, he could feel the repressed anger at hearing the story. Walking forward the wolf left the room leaving the two alone.

"Xavier was caught in the thick of it. He vanished sometime during the fighting, we believe the rogues took him. Quail had held Oliver back from going after them, it was around that time Oliver split from the pack... and stopped talking to his father."

"From what I hear the pack Oliver is with now doesn't settle in one place for long, they are trying to track those rogues. Each one of them has a past with the rogues involved in the attack." Frowning Jasper stood up, quickly hugging Kathy before following Oliver's scent through the faintly familiar house he had been in a handful of times. Though much has changed.

Following Oliver's smell Jasper came to a stop at finding the wolf standing in front of an old man he recognized as Kathy's mate. When the older wolf spotted Jasper a growl came from his chest, Jasper knew he was never liked by Dominick because of the way he had brought Cezar back. Dominick blamed Jasper for making Kathy cry ever since, he blamed Jasper for Cezar's death.

"I thought I recognized the smell all over my grandson. You shouldn't have wiggled your way back into this family, you've cause enough pain." Oliver shot a glare at his grandfather, which went ignored as the older wolf stepped closer to Jasper.

"You should leave before you end up getting Oliver killed as well." Jasper's eyes narrowed as he remembered Kathy sobbing into his chest, covered in Cezar's blood.

A thick hiss left Jasper's mouth, in the blink of an eye the vampire stood over the wolf who was on his back. Glaring down at Dominick, Jasper pressed his bare foot on the wolf's throat leaning over to stare into his eyes.

"Watch your tongue mutt, I'll rip it out if you're not careful." Stepping over the wolf Jasper moved to look at Oliver watching him with a confused expression. Looking down Jasper inhaled deeply reaching into his back pocket to pull out the cigarette pack. Pulling one out and placing it between his lips before grabbing the lighter he kept in the box.

"What happened to Cezar, Jasper?" Glancing at the younger wolf Jasper pushed the packet back into his back pocket as he walked to the back door, feeling his companion follow.

"Were you never told?" Jasper's whisper could still be heard though it was soft as he walked toward a path through the back yard of the house that lead to the pack's cemetery. It was a long ways from the house itself but close enough to reach after 10 minutes of walking. "I was told he was killed by rogue vampires, and that his mate brought him back before disappearing."
