Anubis POV 💀
I wake up. I look around. It looks like a science lab. A dark, eerie, demented lab. Blood all over the table across from me. The room, beside the dim lightbulb above me, is encased in the darkness making it hard to see here. I need to get out of here. As I try to stand I realize that I'm strapped into the chair with my wrist and ankles bound to the arms and legs of the chair. They're tight too. Maybe I'm dreaming I begin to think. Maybe this will all go away. Suddenly, I hear a noise. A door creaking from behind me. Then loud footsteps echo and bounce off the walls of what I guess is a warehouse. Sounds like dress shoes. I begin to pretend I'm unconscious thinking that maybe he will assume I'm dead and leave.
" I know your up. I saw you since I came in" he says gravely.
His distorted and warped voice sends chills through my body, forcing me to sit up. I sit up.
"Where am I. What is this place" I asked fearfully while facing forward trying not to look at him.
He didn't answer. Among the cold silence, I felt a sharp pain in my neck. The bite. I almost forgot about it. I started to wonder how long I have been here. the bite was searing with pain before but now ts more bearable somehow. My worries are directed elsewhere as I hear his footsteps get louder and closer to me. He walks past me to stand right in front of me.
He is holding something but I can't make it out what it is. As he bends down I see that he is wearing a mask. It looks weird. Too weird to describe. He is also wearing a tattered lab coat with what seems like dirt and bloodstains on the sleeves and bottom of the coat. We then lock eye contact briefly. He stands up and goes around to get closer to the bat bite. I feel a sharp, thin pain right where the bite is. He injected something into it.
Whatever he injected it made the pain come back worse than before. I try to restrain myself from screaming by clenching my teeth together with all the little strength I have left, but it's not enough. I let out an agonizing scream as my hands shake and I fling my head back and forth sporadically. While I scream, I notice that he is staring at me. The whole time, he just stares evicting no reaction or emotion whatsoever. After what seemed like forever, the pain finally stopped. As I attempt to gather my breath, I notice that he standing in front of me. He walks directly in front of me, bends down, grabs my head from my hair with a firm grip, and looks at me eye to eye.
"You will die here. Know that. Live with it. You will not leave. You will not survive. You will die", he said with a cold demeanor piercing the distortion of the mask.
"Why," I asked holding back tears and trying to form a proper sentence.
"Why do I have to die. What's so important about me" I screamed with a raspy tone and a sore pain from screaming.
As he stands up and walks towards the door, he suddenly stops and turns his head to side-eye me.
"You have no idea" he responded with a grave tone.
As soon as he closed the door, the pain hits again. This time is even worse than I ever thought it could possibly be. Then, what feels like, an acidic sensation I feel coursing through me, traveling back and forth, while my bite wound throbs rapidly, I don't have it in me to hold back anymore. I scream to the top of my lungs, crying, begging, pleading for help. But nobody came. I screamed until I eventually saw darkness encase my vision and my body goes limp. As what I thought would be my last moments on Earth, I faintly hear the doctor saying
"Light vs Dark. Beast vs Beauty.
Such a shame".
