"Why are you doing this to me?" I screamed into the empty room. Each of my struggles was met with searing pain surging through my body. It didn't take me long to realize that the restraints were infused with silver. I reached out for Luna but she was too far gone.

"What have you done to me?" I screamed again and this time the door opened and Stark walked through.
"Oh no dear Jessicalyn, you've done this." He said walking over to me.
"I didn't do this. Let me go." I shouted.

"That's not how this works. Let me recap for you. You were the one who fought with banner, you were the one who destroyed the safe house, you were the one who made me restrain you." He pointed at me.
"No, you're wrong." I murmured quietly.

"No, you're wrong." He said shaking his head.

I woke up. Dreaming was not going to be my friend right now. I got out of bed, showered, dressed, straightened my long red hair and quickly read my note from Trip before stuffing it in my pocket. I decided to jump in the deep end and head straight to breakfast without a plan of attack. Conveniently no one else was in the kitchen when I got there, so I decided to try to cook. I pulled out a few of the ingredients that I remembered from a book in a recipe for pancakes. I lined up the flour, milk, salt and an egg. I pulled out a bowl and mixing spoon, and I was stuck. I couldn't remember what was next. Eventually I decided on throwing everything in the bowl. I attempted to pour the flour in the bowl but a heap fell out exploding flour everywhere. I looked at myself to confirm that I was indeed covered in the flour. I poured some milk in the bowl, a little bit more salt than I intended. Next I picked up the egg unsure of how to get it out of the shell. Grant managed it last time.

"You should use plain flour, not self raising. Makes them too dense." I jumped dropping the egg on the ground. I frowned and turned to the voice. It was Clint.
"You come here to restrain me too?" I asked collecting some paper towel to clean up the egg.
"No? What are you talking about? Who is restraining you?" He asked with a legitimately concerned look on his face as he walked over to help me clean up.
"Don't worry, I have a feeling that we will be having a talk about that soon. Anyway, plain flour you say?" I ask changing the subject.

"Yeah, improves the quality at least 25%." He said smiling.
"So by switching flour, I can get pancakes at least 25% right?" I ask confused.
"Absolutely, here we'll start again and I'll help you make them. We don't really want a repeat of last time." We laughed at the thought of Grant and I's pancake failure. We set off to work starting over with Clint telling me all the basics of cooking and that I should be using the stove for the pancakes.
"I feel so stupid looking back at all the mistakes I made, I should have known that these dials on the front of the stove do something." I mentioned as we started to cook pancakes.
"Wait? Do I have still have my eyebrows?" Clint asked mocking me from last time. I fake gasped.
"Oh no, Clint they are gone." I teased. Just as I finished cooking the last pancake I turned around to put it on the plate with the others and saw Tony standing in the doorway. I dropped the pan and looked to Clint before backing into a corner pulling out the closed knife I could find.
"Stay away from me." I said shakily pointing the knife in his direction.
"What's happening here?" Clint asks before muttering in realization.
"Calyn-" Tony started but I interrupted.
"No." I said shaking my head.
"Hey Calyn? Maybe you should put down the knife." Clint attempted to calm me down. I just continued shaking my head.
"Can't let my guard down."
"Agent Jackson please put down the knife, we have to have a conference with Director Fury regarding this matter." Steve walked into the room.
"But, we just made pancakes." Clint complained as I cautiously put the knife on the counter.
"Then take them with you, but we need to go now." Steve said dragging Tony out of the room. I went to leave picking up the pancakes.
"Wait. We're missing something." Clint searched through the cupboards before smiling and pulling out a jar of Nutella.
"Can't go wrong with one of these." He said as we headed to the conference room.

I was nervous about going to the conference, for all I know they could be preparing to restrain me again, but Clint was a nice guy and Nat trusts him so I do as well. It was weird calling her Natasha, she will always be Ester to me. Walking into the conference room was extremely intimidating all of the avengers and Director Fury sitting around a table with disappointment across their faces. Sitting down quickly I noticed that Grant wasn't here and that made me a little uncomfortable.
"It has come to my attention that some of you have been acting without my authority on matters that clearly need to be discussed. Agent Jackson I would like to formally apologise on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D for what you have had to endure and will ensure that you are re-embursed. As for the two consultants at fault I will personally deal with the situation. You will be permitted to leave the Avengers on a set of terms that does not brand you a failure from the initiative, if you choose so, otherwise you may continue your training." Fury finished. I thought about it for a moment. I knew I should leave, I haven't exactly been treated well but Grant and I had a mission and I was planing on following through with it.
"If it's all the same to you sir, I would like to stay, I understand that things like this happen in this line of work and I wouldn't be here if I wasn't have to handle a little backstabbing behaviour." I said, lifting my chin up a little and thinking of Trip.
