At first I was very confused. I wasn't sure how to take that I had powers. It was weird, why out of everyone else in that orphanage, why me? And I was also so wondering if my mother also had powers. The director said that for a person to have powers you're parents had to also have powers to pass down to a child, unless something goes wrong and the child turns out with no powers.
I'm not sure where this place was located at, but I knew it was on a coast. We weren't far away from cities, I wondered why no one from the outside came, maybe because we were in the middle of nowhere. Well kind of, its hard to explain. When I got there they gave me my room key, and said from now on you need to learn to be independent. I knew that what was gonna happen, but I didn't know I had to look for my room my self. Like really its this huge castle like orphanage it must have tons of rooms, how am I supposed to know where my room is??!
I wasn't sure where to go so I asked a guy walking by.
"umm..excuse me can you please help me..???"
"First, are you new here?"
" Yes I am."
"Didn't they tell you that you have to be independent. "
"well yeah, but you see th-"
"yeah , I know the orphanage is big, don't worry I was just messing with you, of course I'll help you, why wouldn't I help a girl as beautiful as you."
"t-thank you. " she said as she started to blush.
" what's your room number? "
"i-its 250.."
" hmm never heard of it, it must be on a new floor, and you know you look really cute when you blush."
" umm.. Thanks I guess.. "
We got into the elevator, he was being really nice. He was cute, but I don't know maybe he wasn't flirting , maybe that's just how he is towards girls.
" we're here! "
I looked around it was an empty floor with only one door to the right.
" Why is there only one door?"
" because you're the only one on this floor, so its your room, they always put a new floor once the other floors are full. It might be lonely up here but, if you want I can come over every day."
"umm yeah sure thanks . " she said as she blushed once again.
We opened my room it was big, it had a queen sized bed , a big mirror, beautiful furniture, it was just perfect. The walls were even painted my favorite color, purple. It was just the perfect room, I really couldn't believe they would have done such a beautiful room for an orphan, the furniture must have cost a lot of money.
" hey, are all rooms like this, like are they designed the way we would like it? "
" yeah , they're all like that,I thought the same but then, they told me it was for us to feel at home."
" but doesn't the furniture cost a lot, like why would they spend so much money on us."
"hahahaha, you truly are new to this magic thing. They don't buy the furniture, the people who work here make it, no, not by hand, but with their magic. Your such a newbie."
" ohh okay, and don't call me that, its not my fault I just found out. "
"hahaha, okay I won't newbie "
" hey,stop that."
"yeah, yeah okay, let's go we gotta go practice."
"wait practice? Where? Why?"
" ughh, newbie, haha , look we don't just stay here and do nothing we practice to get stronger and master our powers. By the way what power do you have?"
"I have no idea. "
" oh okay, I guess we can't go there right now so I guess we'll just go to the stadium, common follow me."
" umm.. Okay, hey I just noticed I don't even know your name."
" oh sorry, I'm Igneous. And you are? "
"nice to meet you, Igneous. I'm Mariah. "
"well Mariah, let's go."
"okay."
We started walking to the very back of the orphanage . I wasn't sure where we were going at the time, but I trusted him. You know how they say to not talk to strangers and to get away from them, well I wasn't thinking of that at the time. Until we started walking on a field, that's when I got worried.
