"Urgh, where is it...."

Your hands fumbled around in the cupboard, pulling out all sorts of food items but not the one you wanted.

"Where is the baking powder?!" You shouted out, hearing a muffled reply of 'I don't know' from the other room, from your best friend. Sighing, you stood up and and smoothened out your clothes before grabbing your phone and purse.

"I'm going to go out to the shop, do you need anything?" You ask her, and she shook her head with a smile, before stopping you. "Oh, I heard we have a new neighbour next door," She grinned, and you chuckled at her expression.

"Is it a guy?" You asked, and she nodded. "That much I know, but I haven't seen him yet," She laughed. You laughed and waved at her before slipping on your shoes and stepping out into the corridor and down the stairs. You lived in a block of flats with your best friend who went to the same University as you.

The shop was only a brisk 10 minute walk, so you didn't take your car.

"Hm, which one..." Your fingers ran across the various assortment of cake decorations and flavourings.   There were so many on the aisle that you were struggling to choose. A lean hand reached out from behind you and grabbed a packet, making you flinch.

"Personally, I think these go well together, and this is also nice," The stranger took a few things from the rack and handed them to you, who was standing there watching him in surprise. He was tall and slim, yet had broad shoulders and a handsome face with brown eyes and swished brown hair, his features showing a calm expression. He looked around your age, maybe a year or two older?

"I'm sorry, you seemed to be indecisive so I just wanted to help," He smiled a little smile with his plump pink lips which you found yourself staring at.

"Er-er no its fine, thanks," You dumped the things in your basket and the pair of you stood awkwardly, not knowing what to do next.

"Okay, so, erm..thanks, yeah, see you around..." You and him both mumbled byes and stepped to the side. To the same side.

"Er..." You laughed nervously and stepped again to the other side to go around him...only he also did the same thing. You both looked at each other with a flustered look behind finally bursting into laughter at the silly situation.

"Kim Seokjin," He smiled, extending a hand. "Y/N," You replied warmly and clasped his hand in a handshake, not failing to notice the warmth and softness of his touch. Blushing as you put your hand in your pocket, you both parted ways.

You silently cursed as the key refused to fit into the lock. You balanced the bags on your arms and attempted to jiggle the key into the lock but it wouldn't budge.

"Here, let me help you with that," A gentle, and kind of familiar, voice rang out behind you as the weight from the bags on your arms lifted. You turned to see Jin smiling as he held the bags, and watched you jiggling the key with an amused expression.

"Seokjin? What are you doing here?" You asked, utterly confused. Did he follow you??

He gestured to the door next to yours, and you gasped. New neighbour.

"Yeah, I've just moved in," He grinned, and unlocked his own door, while you gave up with your own. Before realising your mistake.

"Oh my god, I've brought the wrong key," You face palmed, "And my flatmate is out right now..." You sighed, and Jin laughed. "Well, do you need a formal invitation or...?" He smiled cutely and beckoned for you to come into his apartment, which you gladly did. Which was a good thing, seeing as you and him spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and baking, flicking flour at each other and laughing, just generally having a good time and getting to know each other better.

"You have chocolate on your nose," You giggled, pointing at his nose. He smiled, coming closer to you. Very close. Your heart started to beat faster and you felt your palms heat up. His dark eyes bore into yours, unmoving. Just when his lips were about to touch yours, your phone rang, causing the pair of you to jump apart.

"I-er-"

"Oh-erm-"

Jin rubbed the back of his neck and you quickly grabbed your phone, cutting the call and standing in silence. You couldn't deny that, if he had kissed you...you wouldn't have minded. At all.

"Anyway, I should go," You smiled, and to his surprise gave him a kiss on the cheek before exiting his home and returning to yours with a grin plastered on your face.

University had started again.

Over the past few days you'd seen Jin occasionally coming in and out, but you didn't get a chance to talk for long. Even though you hadn't known him for long, you liked him and wanted to hang out with him again. Maybe today after classes, you thought with a smile.

"So class, you have a new professor from today! Our youngest professor, so I'm sure you'll be able to relate to him better. Mr Kim?"

Your jaw dropped. Jin walked into the room, smiling. He wore a suit, and round glasses giving him and older appearance. His bright eyes wandered around the room, but as soon as they fell on you his face turned to one of surprise, before he recomposed himself. "Well, good luck Mr Kim," The old professor patted Jin on the back before leaving.

He is a teacher. He is off-limits.

All throughout the lesson he tried to subtly talk to you, to find excuses to come over to you, but you weren't having any of it. You brushed him off and you could tell he was hurt but he didn't say anything. You didn't get why you were so annoyed right now...

"Miss Y/N? Could I speak to you for a moment? The rest may leave."

Slowly the students all filed out until there was just the two of you left.

"Y/N, I really like you, and I'm sorry that-"

"Students and teachers can't be in relationships," You blurted out, hurting inside as you saw the pain flash across Jin's face.

"Very well. You can go," Jin reluctantly said, turning away and grabbing his bag. You stared after him in shock. He left? Just like that?

The old professor was back the next day.

"Sir? Where is Mr Kim?" A student asked, as you pondered the same question. Where was he?

"He left," The professor spoke. WHAT? You trembled a little; was it because of you? Did you annoy him? Is he angry? Why did you care so much? The answer was obvious...you liked him. A lot.

After classes, you rushed out, and sped to your apartment, knocking on Jin's door without even thinking through what to say. The door slowly opened to reveal Jin in casual ripped skinny jeans and a white t-shirt, looking handsome as anything, and wearing his round glasses.

"Jin, I'm sorry, why did you quit-"

Your words were cut off when he leaned forward and grabbed you, pulling your body to him as he wrapped an arm around your waist and placed his lips on yours. A warm feeling spread through your lips to heat up your cheeks, and you felt yourself blush when he parted. He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, and pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose and spoke, his breath tickling your neck and making you smile.

"Because, Y/N, you said so yourself...students and teachers can't be in relationships."
