~Pause's POV~
Most of us have been just lying around, chatting with each other and lazing around. Guude, Baj, Beef and I have been trying to figure out how we can escape but we seemed to be going on an endless road to nothingness. Until...
"What is the goal that most people have when they play this game?" Beef questioned. That got the gears in our head to finally start working.
"To defeat the Ender Dragon!" Guude exclaimed after a moment of silence. "Why didn't we think of this at first?"
"Cause we're stupid," Baj replied, standing up to find dig for something in his chest. He pulled out an eye of ender and threw it in the air. It zoomed towards to window in a great splash of dark purple before bouncing off it. Specks of purple slowly faded away as the eye of ender lay completely still on the ground.
We were momentarily shocked before I jumped up in excitement. "That was amazing!" I yelled. "You got any more?" Baj shook his head, suggesting that we ask the rest of the group. We exited our room one by one, going around to gather everybody.
As the Mindcrackers, plus one, settled down, Guude stepped up on a tiny make-shift stage and explained our findings. "We need more eye of Ender. Tonight, half of us will go out and kill some endermen while the other half will kill some blazes so that we can craft some eye of ender and return home!" The Mindcrackers cheered in happiness smiling from ear to ear. "We need volunteers to go. Pause will lead for the Endermen hunt and I will be going to the nether so make a choice, otherwise, we will pick." With that, Guude stepped off the stage and everyone broke up and started their own conversations.
As time passed, more and more people volunteered to go and help farm for some ender pearls while Guude had his own list of blaze hunters. Soon, the sun fell and darkness took over. Zombies and skeletons littered the area, but not a single enderman in sight. "Let's go!" I told my group, as Guude's entered the noisy nether portal.
We entered the dark night, wielding swords and bows in our blocky hands. There was an area with loads of endermen spawning, which we took note of on our way to the new home, and so we brisk walked that way. Occasionally, I turned back to check on my group and with every step, Xin lagged behind more and more. Well someone is lonely.
I told Baj to continue leading them forward as I waited for her to catch up. "Hey. What's wrong?" I asked, genuinely concerned.
For a moment she looked up at me, seeming a bit shocked. After a few seconds, she sighed and told me, "I miss my family... But when we leave, I'll miss all of you."
Thinking for a while, I put my arm around her, saying "You know, we can meet up in real life right?"
"But I'm merely a student. How am I supposed to get the money?" Obviously, she did not want to bother her parents for anything.
"There's Skype too you know?"
"True that..." Xin let out a long sigh, "Oh well. I just want to get back home right now."
"Same mate. Same." I replied, smiling at the thought of going back home.
The group stopped and I looked ahead to see a few endermen walking around calmly. Everyone kept their heads down, including me. "Make the two high ceilings so that the endermen cannot attack you. Everyone brought out their cobblestone and started building, making multiple small shelters.
We finished quickly and hid under the shelters, sealing ourselves in so that other mobs will not be a problem. I looked up and stared at a lone enderman, causing him to turn around slowly, I had the urge to look away, but I knew the goal in mind. The enderman, who I called Bob, screeched at me, teleporting out of sight.
Bob appeared in front of me, but his head blocked by the cobblestone. I pulled out my diamond sword and swung at him. It screeched and teleported in a flash of purple to appear behind me and his long arms tried to reach out for me. I swung again, slicing his arm off. Bob screeched in pain and before he could teleport, I rushed up to him and stabbed him, causing him to die off in a cloud of white and purple.
I picked up the pearls and angered the next enderman, whom I named it as Bob v2.0. He teleported to me and I swung my sword at him but he dodged it, using his long arms to reach me and slap me out of my shelter. The sound of my body crashing to the ground got the attention of other endermen, who ditched their fight with the others and came towards me. Slowly, I stood up, but another long arm grabbed me and swung me around, letting me go and making me hit a stone wall. Blood oozed out of my head and I felt dizzy, consciousness fading away. Taking one last blow from the enderman...
~VintageBeef's POV~
I stumbled out of the portal, happy that our hunt for blazes was finally over. parts of my apron were charred from a fireball almost hitting me but otherwise, I was perfectly fine. Not many people in my group got hurt either.
I collected the shiny, golden blaze rods from everyone and placed it on a crafting bench, turning it into powder. "Beef! Beef get out here!"
Running out of the kitchen, I pushed through the crowd of worried faces. "What's going-" I gasped at the sight infront of me and fell to my knees. "Pause? Pause! What happened?" I asked Etho.
"The endermen killed him..." Etho told me, his own voice cracking in sadness. Endermen... The mob I hate the most. Those bastards. White particles slowly floated off Pause's body, rising and disappearing in the cold night air. I hugged him tightly for the last time and lay him down next to Sev's 'gravestone', making one for Pause too.
Tears spilled onto the grass and I buried my face in my hands. Etho and Guude kneeled beside me and gave me a tight hug, but they were crying too. Every Mindcracker stood there, mourning in the night for our beloved Pause. His body had fully disappeared, but no one really moved away. My body shook in sadness and anger. I was done with that bastard Herobrine. I am going to fight. For Aurey, Paul, Nebris, Sev and Pause. I will fight for them, and we will avenge them.
After a while, I stood up in determination and dried my tears, collecting all the ender pearls everyone had in between hiccups and quickly crafting them into eyes of ender.
"Get ready guys. We are going to avenge our friends," I told the group. The puzzled expressions all changed into determined ones as everyone composed themselves and went into their rooms to get all the necessary things.
As I finished packing up, most of the members are already waiting outside, ready to go. "Once we leave, there is no going back. Understand?" Guude said. Heads bobbed up and down in acknowledgement.
"Great. Let's go." I looked back one last time at the wonderful house we had for a while, taking in every last detail of it before looking forward and heading out.
This is it. I threw the eye of ender into the air and it shook with purple sparks everywhere and sped towards the north. There was no turning back.
