Rose's Thorns ~TenxRose~

So Close.

Rose followed the doctor. As they walked they noticed the town was the same, except all the people were gone. The Doctor seemed more worried about the TARDIS then the situation. Every few seconds, he would look back at the TARDIS, checking to see if she was still there.

"Doctor!" She called as he ran into a pole because he was watching the TARDIS. He nodded and rubbed his forehead.

"Sorry." he mumbled glancing at the TARDIS one last time. They walked in silence until they reached a house where someone was locking themselves inside.

"Do you think," Rose whispered. "they've all just locked themselves inside?" she scratched her head.

"I suppose." he shrugged, " But why would they do that?" he asked bewildered. Rose also shrugged.

"Apocalypse?" she suggested. The doctor let out a small laugh. He approached a the house and knocked on the door. Rose walked up beside him.

The door slung open and the Doctor was grabbed by his tie and yanked inside. Just before they shut the door, they pulled rose inside as well. She grabbed onto the doctors arm to keep from falling. He helped her by pulling her up. The tip of her nose brushed against his, and their lips almost touched. Rose thought for a second they might kiss, but the situation, the setting, it was all wrong. it didn't help that the same man who pulled them in was screaming about the end of the world and shaking his fists in the air. Rose glanced at her ring and adjusted it on her finger.

"Did you see it!" He screamed pointing out the window. "It happened earlier too!" he was now jumping up and down. The Doctor pulled away.

"What what is it?! Whats happened?!" He pushed back the blinds.

"It went dark again" He explained, "That's why everyone really went inside! It went black for a few seconds!" The Doctor looked out side the window and kept silent.

"Rose?" He whispered and turned to her. "We need to go to the TARDIS now." he said calmly.

"WhAt No YoU cAnT lEaVe NoW!" the man screamed horrified, his tail tucked between his legs. He was just a moment late as the door slammed behind the Doctor.

"OH! Yes!" The Doctor cheered, running up to the TARDIS. Rose huffed and pushed the door open. The Doctor finished mumbling to the TARDIS how thankful he was she didn't leave and that he loved her etc. Etc, and finally came inside. When he stepped inside he immediately noticed Rose, her arms crossed and leaning on the console.

"What is it doctor?" She shrugged. "Did you notice something? Or did you just want to make sure the TARDIS was still here" she mocked. The TARDIS tilted, making the doctor lose his balance and almost run into Rose . She tilted back up just before they ran into each other. Rose felt her cheeks turn red as the doctor was leaning over her. Their lips were just touching. Rose felt her heart racing. The Doctor started to lean in.
