Not My Love

Chapter 10

I sat at the cliff for a little longer, but then I finally had to get home. The sun was setting and I had a long walk home. I stood up and started to walk back home when my phone buzzed once again. I took it out and saw that Nick had texted me again:

Kristin, where are you? I'm very worried about you. Please text me back....please.

I didn't know what to say so I just said:

I'm on my way home. You can meet me there.

I walked past the school and up to my house. As I was walking up to my house, Nick pulled up. Before I could say anything Nick had his hands wrapped around me in a hug. "Kristin...I was so worried about you. I was letting you cool down, but when I hadn't seen you in a while I got worried. I'm glad your ok." I didn't know what to say, so I just smiled.

Nick took my hand and walked me inside. "Do you wanna talk about what's going on between you and Rebecca?" I didn't wanna talk about it but I told him everything. I told him about what happened between me and Luke. I just told him, not realizing it until I was done telling everything. By the end I was crying, crying into his chest while we sat on the couch.

He let me cry, let me cry into his chest, not stopping me or anything. Before I could talk to him or hear what he was saying to me, I was asleep in his arms. He let me sleep and didn't bother moving me.

Nicks POV
I was sitting on the couch holding Kristin in my arms as she cried and told me what was going on between her and Rebecca. Before I could say anything I looked down at her and saw she was asleep. All I did was smile and keep holding her. I didn't want to move her and risk waking her up.

I sat there and thought about the way this feels to me. Every time she moves a little my heart races, thinking she's waking up and will punch me or something, but she doesn't. I smiles and kiss the top of her head and smile. I slowly stand up and lay her head on the pillow, and place a blanket on her. As I do that I walk into the kitchen and grab a drink for her, since I know she'll need it.

When I walk back into the living room again, I see her smiling in her sleep. If only I knew what she was thinking of right now. I set the drink of the table next to her and try and find a piece of paper and a pen. Once I do I sit down and write her a note. When I'm done I walk over to her and leave the note next to the glass, and walk out.

I walk to my car and sit inside, thinking about everything she said to me. I sigh and then start my car, then drive to my house. When I get inside, I sit down and close my eyes, and start dreaming about Kristin.

Kristin POV
When I wake up, the house is empty. I sit up and look around, only to see a glass of water and a note with my name on it. I grab the note and read it:

Kristin, I know I've only known you for a while, but I do like you...a lot. I know you don't feel the same way, but it's true. Whenever you wake up please know I won't be there. If you want to talk to me, you have my number. I may not answer right away, so leave a message or text me. Goodbye Kristin. Goodbye.

I didn't know what to say about that, so I just placed the note down and sighed. Everything is so complicated. I want to cry, I want to just go back to sleep, but I don't. I pick up my phone and call him. After the third ring it goes to voicemail, and I hang up. I don't text him or anything, just sit there and look at my phone. What have I done with my life.

Before I could place my phone down, it starts ringing and I look to see who's calling. In big bold letters it says Nick and my heart sinks. I pick up the phone on the second ring. "Hello?" All I hear is his breathing on the other side then a sigh.
"I take it you read my note"

"Yea"

"Its true"

"What is?"

"Me liking you"

"Oh"

Before he could say anything else, I hang up and run over to his house. Within a few minutes I'm knocking on his front door. By the time I get my breathing under control, which doesn't take long since I take track, he's opening the door and I wrap my arms around his neck. In response to this, his arms are wrapped around my waist. "I love you Nick", was all I could say. He whispers in my ear with a joyful tone "I love you too". He looks at my blue eyes and sighs, "but we aren't together". I smirk and roll my eyes, "you never asked me to be your girlfriend."

"Will you go out with me?" I smile and nod my head. He picks my up by my waist and spins me around as I smile and laugh. He places me down gracefully and kisses my lips softly. I kiss him back and smile.

That moment was the best ever. Rebecca hasn't talked to me, and neither has Luke. I see them in the halls, kissing and holding hands, and stuff like that. When they see me they give me dirty looks or ignore me all together. I sigh every time that happens, hoping one day they will talk to me again, but I don't think that will happen for a while. I'm still hoping though.
