This book wasn't very long maybe 200 pages but the lesson it taught me will live with me forever. This book showed me a lot.
First of this memoir showed me Paul and not the man who died of cancer in the mid of his life but the man who loved literature, a doctor , a scientist a husband ,a brother , a son and a father. It showed how much love had for his craft and how passionate he was about caring for people and treating for people. It showed how he also was a human he thought about giving up ,about letting go ,about being selfish.
It also showed me the injustices in life. How life isn't always fair and how sometimes stuff just happens and you have to get over it. Things that happen don't always have a rhyme or reason to them. It showed that their are no good luck tokens no matter how good of a person you are.
Even though Paul was a great person and a great physician .I still have to ask 'who would he have been without the cancer ?' Would he still have impacted some many like he did.Maybe he's sickness had some rhyme or reason. Maybe the world needed him to go through this adversity so he could show the world something different. Maybe this is what his life meaningful.
