✨SKYLOR CHEN'S STORY✨((on hold))

The first task

As Chen's island drew nearer, clouse pulled me aside and whispered, "Master Chen wants you to monitor the ninja during the tournament. Skylor, are you up for the task?" I thought about getting into my father's inner ranks I nodded. "I'm up for the task Clouse. What do I have to do?" Clouse showed me a list of where the ninjas rooms were and where mine was, Lloyd and cole on the first level, Kai and I were on the second level, and Jay on the third level above Kai's room, a perfect set up. I pocketed the map and left Clouse at the wheel and went to the port side stern as the ferry entered the dock. Two guards lay the plank down. We exited the ferry and started up the stairs up to Chen's palace. With the ninja and Sensei in my sights, I followed them up. Then suddenly, Kai leans into the other ninja making a clean path up the remaining five steps and said, "Ladies first." A million thoughts must have went through my mind in that fifteen seconds. Was he hitting on me? Was he trying to be nice? I wouldn't know. I've been isolated on a remote island for fifteen and a half years. So I did what I practiced, I did a small smile and kept going. We entered the palace to the of drums and a resounding gong and the sounds of tree horn horns blaring. I was finally home, but I had to pretend it was new to me. We entered the main room with the Anacondrai symbol in its center. I sat down, in front of its head and then everyone else followed suit, there was a measure of silence, "All rise for Master Chen." Announced Clouse. We all rose as dramatic music blared, and my father's throne descended from the ceiling and he stood up and greeted the contenders of the elemental tournament . And said, "Welcome! To my tournament of elements! Now you can all die!" The doors we had entered through slammed shut. "Return your attention to me!" My father's manical laugh rang through the room. "Here you will fight for glory, fame but most importantly, to win the tournament and to be The most famous warrior in all of Ninjago!" Whispers went through the crowd and then quiet. "Here," my father
pointed at the golden bracket with a picture of each fighter, I noticed that the ninja were all in a different bracket. And held up a jade blade. "This jade blade is you in this tournament, in each fight you will fight for a jade blade and return it here to me, he who does not return with a jade blade is eliminated from this tournament. So sad! But don't have this in your thoughts! My kabuki women will show you to your rooms!" We stood up as the kabuki women entered the room and directed us to our rooms. I walked into my room, just as I had left it, bed not made, and balcony door ajar, I walked out onto the balcony and leaned on the rail and I heard Kai's voice, "hey, I guess we're neighbors. I'm Kai. Master of fire." He lit his hand on fire. I turned to look at him and I thought I'd play along, "Skylor, Master of. . . Wouldn't you like to know?" Now I've gotten his attention. He looked at his hand and yelped and started jumping up and down and shaking the flames off his hand yelling. I stifled a laugh and the flames died, he was about to say something else when my father's voice rang through the island. "Welcome to the first task of the tournament of elements! Hidden around my island are enough jade blades for all but one! Return to the main throne room with your jade blade and you are safe for this round! Come back empty handed, and you lose! " I glance at my surroundings and see Kai staring up at a jade blade over on the top rafters of the wall. I had to get there first to get myself a spot for the next challenge. So when Chen said to let the first challenge begin I was already climbing. "Hey!" Exclaimed Kai. And he started to climb aswell, we were right next to each other when I slipped and I knew it was over, ground was a hundred and forty-two feet down and I was heading for it. Then something happened that never would expect. Kai had a hold of my leg and used his momentum to hoist me back up. I was stunned for a fraction of a second, shocked on what had just happened and stumped on what to do, to help Kai up, or to get the jade blade. He'll be fine, he's smart, he can find  himself another jade blade. I told myself , I pried the jade blade off the rafters and said, "Sorry, hot tamale!" And I went off as fast as I could to the throne room. As I ran past other elemental masters fighting for jade blades, I saw Jay holding one and running out of his room yelling, "I love my room!!" Luckily, I knew a short cut to the throne room, right behind the tapestry of the seven Arcturus Generals. I thought I saw Sensei Garmadon watching me on the other side of the hallway but I ran down the passage and was the first fighter to return a jade blade. I placed the blade onto the holder and my father said, "well done Skylor, what powers have you absorbed?"  I looked into his eyes, they were glowing madly, would I become like him? Mad, delirious and hungry for power? I answered, "metal and fire." "Good, very good." He said with a mad laugh, "the spirits of the seven Arcturus Generals will be under our will once we release them from the cursed realm that my pesky formal pupil Garmy banished them there! with every fight you and I will grow stronger. Soon the staff will be strong enough for the sp--" Then the main doors opened and
Jay, Neuro and Tox dash in with jade blades, placed them on the holder and then they began to wait for the others. I stood apart from Jay and the others for I was deep in thought about Kai, what if I stopped Kai from finding a jade blade? I shook myself mentally, no he's going to find another one. So I watch as Lloyd, Camille, Mr. Paleman,  Shade, Griffin Turner, Ash, Bolobv enter the room and return  their  jade blades to the holder. Not long after that, Cole  bursted  through the doors  with a jade blade. "Wait! I've got one!" "Cole!"  Jay exclaimed. "You made it!" Cole  scanned the  room for Kai. "Where's Kai?" No one could answer Cole's  question. All anyone  else did was wait, talk to each  other about who they thought would bring in the last jade blade, Kai, or Karlof?  After a while the doors opened  with a bang and a deep voice exclaimed, Karlof wins!!!"   I hate to say this, but I was shocked.  But I was about to be even more shocked, As a squeaking noise  filled the room and Karlof's armored hand that held the blade fell off and hit the floor with a crash. Kai stepped  from behind Karlof and said, "looks like you have a screw loose."  Then he grabbed the jade blade and used his fire like rocket jets and landed next to the jade blade holder and placed it into the holder. Jay yelled, "that's how you do it Kai!"   He look at me as applause sounded around the throne room, and nodded and smiled, wow, he's making my job easy, did I want it to be easy?  "He cheated!!!!" Boomed Karlof from the entrance,  "that's not how you win Kai." Intervened Sensei Garmadon. "I did what I had to do." Stated Kai stubbornly. "He did what had to do to win." Said my father, "but it seems we have a loser!"  "I lose?" Karlof questioned.  "I don't lose!! Karlof never wanted to be on  stinkin'  stupid island in the first place!!!!!"   "Well I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay, but I guess it's all for the best." Father pressed a button on his throne. "This is... goodbye!!!!" As a trap door opened right under Karlof  and he fell and I  stifled a gasp as I knew what was down there waiting for him.  "I think today went quiet well!" Exclaimed my father. "There's a few simple rules here, no interaction with other fighters after 8:00 pm,  no wandering the island after dark and no snooping, so enjoy my island! It's a super fun happy place! Never bite the hand the feeds you, master Chen's delicious noodles! You are dismissed!!"  Everyone separated and as  Kai walked off the riser, I caught his eye and winked. He did a double take and grinned. And backed into his friend, cole. I looked away and when no one watching, I went behind the tapestry of  Acturus and waited for the ninja and Sensei to leave the throne room and  then I heard them  leave and I left my hiding place  and stepped up to my father to tell him my progress,  "I've gotten into Kai's mind father, what is my next mission?" "Skylor, skylor, skylor," my father said, shaking his head. "Have you not heard of deep cover? You must get  the ninjas trust." "Yes father." I said and backed out of the room
