Before I start this chapter, I'm going to warn you. It's a LONG one, since a lot happens. So here we go
I woke up today to a messy room again and the balcony doors open again. I was positive that I shut them last night. Oh well. I cleaned my room and hid my dark red robe in the bathroom vanity. And walked out of my room
To get some grub from the cafeteria. To my surprise I was the last person to get to the cafeteria, I grabbed a tray and got into line behind Griffin Turner, who was talking to Gravis, both in low voices but stopped when they saw me. Farther up the line was the ninja and Sensei Garmadon. They to were talking quietly, but all the same, I heard Cole say, "I'm not so sure Kai, from what Sensei G says about him I think it could be something far more sinister." "May I remind us that we still can't find Zane." Jay replied in a loud whisper. "Which is why we need to win our first rounds so we can stay in the tournament, and don't look at me I've already moved on." Cole enterjected. "You're apponent got himself kicked out." "Either way it's my day off!" Said Jay. "Extra creamy biscuits and don't skimp on em" as Jay and Cole left the line and went to their table, Griffin Turner and Gravis got their food and sat down in a booth. I stepped forward and chose scrambled bacon potato and eggs, toast, and protein shake, and was about to sit down to eat when music blared from the speakers that are practically everywhere. Great, my fathers gonna give a speech. the tournament of elements continues!! Fun time!!! Would the following fighters come to their assigned arenas. Mind, Nature, Speed, Gravity, smoke. And last but certainly not least" and then he paused for a dramatic effect, " Fire!" Really?! Kai barely made it out of round one by the skin of his teeth, almost got caught in the retrieval of the elements ceremony. It's gonna have to take a wish and a prayer for him to move on. Why am I even thinking about him? What's going on? Snap out of it Skylor. Don't let him cloud your mind you have to focus on your task, to report to Clouse on my findings. So I quickly finished my scrambled eggs and toast and finished half of my protein shake and took my tray to the kitchen and left to find Clouse. As I left the cafeteria, Cole and Jay were arguing loudly, usually I can distinguish voices but in this argument it was impossible. No matter as I walked down the hall and and went behind the tapestry of the seven Acturus Generals I've been down this passage so often, sometimes I don't realize I do it, like clockwork. I entered the throne room and there was Clouse, and my father, talking in whispers, they stopped when they saw me approach, "it was the ninja who intruded in our secret ceremony then?" Confirmed Clouse. I nodded, "Don't worry your dark-haired head about the ninja Clousy Clouse." My father said. "I'm about to choose which arenas the fighters will fight in, I've whittled it down to three choices, 'the Cherry Blossom Cliff'. 'The Stone Post' or 'the
Bridge Of Fire.'" After hearing the options, Clouse said, "Griffin Turner and Gravis will fight in Cherry Blossom Cliff. Neuro and Bolobo will fight in Stone Post. Kai and Ash will fight in Bridge of Fire." "Very good Clouse, good choice let's start the battles! Starting with Cherry Blossom Cliff! Skylor, may you have the honors to place the jade blades in the said arenas?" This wasn't a request, it was an order. So I nodded and I went the drawer where he kept some of his jade blades took three out and placed them in my bag and headed for the Cherry Blossom Cliff. Once I got there, I scanned the arena for any unwanted attention, no one was there, other than two songbirds in the tree. I climbed to the topmost branch and placed the first jade blade on it. It's green blade glistened in the light of the sun making the Cherry blossom trees' flowers look golden. Climbing down, I looked at the two songbirds, that were still there after I climbed through there tree, they were tinted silver in the light of the sun through the jade blade. Turning away from this sight, I made my way to the second arena on my list, Stone Post. It was a simple mound of stone about four-stories high. After climbing up the mound of stone and placing the second jade blade, I stared at the writing on the rock, on it was a heart surrounding two pairs of initials, I recognized my fathers, AC, and the other one was one I've only seen once in my life-time when I was very small, HV. My mother's initials, Hannah Ventworth, + Alibus Chen. I don't know if she left my father or died or what, I have never seen her. My shoulder burned again, just like it had last night, I had fifteen minutes to get the third jade blade to the Bridge of Fire and be back at the Cherry Blossom Cliff for the first fight of the day. So I climbed down the Stone Post and ran to the Bridge of Fire. It was very warm here, I was starting to break a sweat, I found the exact middle of the bridge and placed the jade blade in the middle. Taking one last look around after running off the bridge and I didn't stop running til I got to the spectator's stands in front of Cherry Blossom Cliff. I sat in the last spot which was next to Jay, who was as in a mood of excitement, bouncing up and down in his seat. As Griffin Turner and Gravis took there spots in the arena and waited for my father's signal to start, "Griffin Turner, master of Speed, versus Gravis, Master of Gravity!" My father exclaimed. "Fight!" And it was an interesting battle, none of them did much fighting. Both of them trying to reach the jade blade first, then Gravis shot many Cherry blossoms at Griffin, disorienting him and then Gravis floated the blade off it's hanging place and was bringing it towards him but doing so, he lost his focus on Griffin and he stole the jade blade, making Griffin Turner the winner. "The winner is Griffin Turner!" Shouted my father, "loser!!" A trap-door opened under Gravis but he was in mid-air and he started to laugh when my father pressed a second button and a heavy-weight fell on Gravis making him fall down the hole. "Master of Speed moves on!" "Man!" Griffin Turner wondered aloud, "how many buttons does this guy have?!" 472,583,162,394 I thought to myself, trust me. I've counted every single one of his buttons. Fifteen minutes later we were in a different arena, the fighters, Neuro, master of Mind, and Bolobo, master of Nature. They were on either sides of the Stone post, this time I was sitting behind the ninja, "Neuro, master of Mind versus Bolobo, master of Nature." My father announced. "Fight!" And the fight started, again like the first battle, they relied on their power, not their physical strength. Bolobo was speaking in the language of the plants I guess to summon the nature around him to his cause, "ugh, they call this a fight?" Grunted Lloyd. "Wait of it," Garmadon said to Lloyd. And then Bolobo sprouted vines from the ground around Neuro, but Neuro had been reading Bolobo's mind and used the vines to get higher up the mound of stone. "Never underestimate the sheer will power of the mind." Garmadon quoted. Then Bolobo started to climb as well but was struggling. Neuro attempted to push him off but lost balance himself and pulled Bolobo down with him. And both fell where they started, on the ground. Both of them got up quickly but Bolobo was up first and trapped Neuro with many vines, "I did-didn't see that coming." Stuttered Neuro. "But when there's man vs nature, nature usually wins" Lloyd said with enthusiasm. As Neuro struggled with the plant, Bolobo turned his focus from Neuro to a vine he was growing to reach for the jade blade. But the other vines loosened their hold on Neuro and he turned around and mind controlled Bolobo's vine to drop the jade blade into Neuro's outstretched hand. "Winner!!!! Master of the Mind moves on." And then Bolobo fell down another hole. Standing up, I started on my way to the final arena, I looked behind me and I saw Cole giving Kai pointers for his fight. "You need to focus" Cole said calmly. "That's how Gravis and Bolobo fell, they had their focus weighed down by their opponent. For your fight, you fight Ash, master of smoke, no doubt he's going to play dirty, smoke in the eyes and disappearing when you try to hit him, use that to your advantage." "Thanks Cole, I get that jade blade cuz I own it." Kai said. "Ha-ha! Now you're cooking with gas!" Jay exclaimed. "Very good," said Garmadon. "You got this in the bag Kai." Lloyd said, patting Kai on the back. I turned my direction to what was in front of me and it was in fact the Bridge of Fire. So I made my way to the bleachers and sat at the end of the first row. From there, everyone else filled the stands to watch the match. How unusual it might seem, no matter where I sit, the ninja are always on my left. Again Jay on my left, Lloyd next to Jay, Garmadon next to Lloyd and Cole on the very end. "The last fight of the day will be Kai master of Fire versus Ash master of Smoke!" My fathers voice rang through the vicinity. "Fight!" Kai didn't have to be told twice as he charged Ash but Ash had other plans, Ash flipped the bridge upside-down, flipping the jade blade onto one of five pillars below. and Kai, unbalanced, fell over the side and was hanging on the ropes. As Ash ran towards Kai, Kai flew through the bridge monkey-bar style, and bursted through the bridge behind Ash and tried to kicked him in the back. But Ash vanished. And reappeared again and pushed Kai backwards and Kai broke the bridge even more and was hanging on to the ropes again. "Come on Kai!" Shouted Lloyd. "Use your power!" Turning my head a I see Clouse mumbling a curse, and then my father whispered, "no magic, I'm enjoying this." Clouse, reluctantly stopped saying the incantation and stood in silence. Dodging Ash's smoke balls, getting himself momentum, Kai swung himself back onto the bridge and did Spinjitzu, an ancient art of the first Spinjitzu master. As Kai charged Ash in his whirl-wind of blazing fire Ash disappeared. Kai stopped his tornado and looked around for his opponent and then Ash appeared behind Kai and grabbed him in a half Nelson, Kai, running out of air, threw two fire balls at the end of the bridge and the bridge collapsed. Ash drops Kai and lands on the south pillar, Kai lands one the north pillar, the jade blade in the center and fairly higher pillar. Kai leaps for the blade but Ash blocks him and both fly back to the east and west pillars, "use him to your advantage," muttered Cole. And Kai seeing the opportunity, leaped once more for the jade blade. Ash leaping for it as well, Kai threw two balls of fire at Ash and Ash disappeared giving Kai a clear field to the the jade blade. Kai seized it and the match was over. Ash reappeared, shocked on what had just happened. We all stood up and shouted in Kai's victory, Jay was the loudest, I couldn't hear out of my left ear for a hour after. "Winner!" My father said through a mega phone. "Master of Fire moves on!" And Ash fell through the trap door. Tonight, I'd absorb three new elements, gravity, nature and Smoke. As we walked back to our rooms I left the group and went through the tapestry of the Acturus Generals, I swear this time, Garmadon is watching my every move. I have to be more secretive. I entered the throne room and stayed in the dark where my father, Clouse and the Kabuki who were dancing couldn't see me, "it was the ninja who intruded into our secret ceremony," muttered Clouse, "yet we allow them to move forward? Master, let me use my sorcery and put an end to there meddling-" "not know Clouse." Said my father, "We will use your dark magic in time but we won't do a ceremony tonight. I feel like throwing a wild card tomorrow. How about you?" Very much indeed," Clouse said in a whisper. "Tomorrow will be a troublesome day for the ninja, for one will fall."Wow, a lot happens in this one! I took along time for this one and I hoped you liked it. Stay tuned for chapter seven
