"Are you gonna knock?"

"Uhh Duh."

No one moved.

"Should I knock?"

"Don't be stupid, I will." I stayed frozen to the spot.

"Riley?"

There was a loud silence, safe for the bird tweeting above my head happily.

Curse you little bird, this is not a happy moment! I scowled up at the sky.

"Riley you're kinda freaking me out now, so I errr... I'm gonna go-" Willis' sentence was cut short by a stinging squeeze to his fingers and the loss of the ability to feel them.

"Don't. Leave. Me." Suddenly I was terrified, I didn't want to meet her now, who am I kidding I didn't want to meet her ever.

"We should go for a walk, get some more air-" I began lamely.

The front door abrubtly swung open. Jace stood at the door, looking... bored as always.

"I knew I heard voices!" my mum called from somewhere inside the house.

I gulped, my hands became sweaty, I felt nauseous all of a sudden. My eyes snapped up to Jace pleadingly.

HELP ME. I sent telepathically, searching for signs of my message pinging in his brain.

...nothing...

No Jace obviously doesn't have that level of brain capacity and skill going on up there. I looked back at Jace, to see he was silently sizing up Willis, his face was the picture of pure hatred on all levels. Wow, he needs to calm down.

I looked back at Willis, who was still holding my hand. He had a little frown of his own and stared down Jace's glare, but his was nowhere near as...murderous as Jace's. I shuddered, before taking a step into the house.

I could hear the chatter of my family. Millie's brawl, Dad's wafling on about tales of when he was a little boy, mum not-so-silently holding back tears. Ryan shuffling about with the occasional bark.

I had to do this sooner or later.

Jace and Willis were having a conversation behind me, but all I could really hear was Jace's deep growl.

I stepped into the living room, not even noticing when Willis slipped out the door.

Millie ran to me first.

"Droopy boobies!" she squealed delightedly clapping her chubby hand together in ecstasy.

All eyes snapped to me, and I felt a blush rushing up my cheeks. I bent and picked Millie up cradling her. Call me childish but it was almost possessively, like this is MY sister. Mine.

But of course the stupid thing was, she was hers as well.

My eyes darted past Mom, Dad and finally landed on her.

"Brianna." I said my voice even, even though I was trembling on the inside.

She stood up slowly taking her sweet time.

"Riley" her tone matched mine, and so did her height. Dammit, I wanted to be at least a few centimetres taller than her. But no, she had to be bang on 5.5 didn't she.

I watched her expression carefully as her eyes ran over my excuse of an outfit.

What? I mean I didn't have time to get dressed! I shifted awkwardly in my old onesie.
