Chapter 8

I was very used to waking up in a room on my own.

Opening the curtains on my own.

Brushing my teeth and showering on my own.

Getting dressed on my own.

Tidying my room on my own.

Gathering school books on my own.

Waking up my siblings on my own.

None of that happened today.

I woke up with to a pair of perfectly made up eyes staring at me from the other side of the room,

But even before that, I was roused from my sleep with the blinding sunlight streaming down onto my face, from curtains that I didn't open.

I was hurried in my bathroom by the annoying fact that I wasn't the only one that had to use it now.

I was getting dressed awkwardly shying behind my towel and shoving things on quickly because of the presence on the other side of the room reminding me that I wasn't on my own.

I was joined in the delightful horror of cleaning up my room before school and the laying of beds with another person.

Gathering my books for the day became tedious as I realized that I had to lend said person some of my books as she didn't have any yet.

And finally as I rushed to do just one thing on my own, fate was obviously against me because as I rushed to Jace's room to shout GET THE FLUFF UP DICKFACE (I'm an early riser, and yes fluff does institute for fuck because there is a child in the premises).

Someone was already in Millie's room rolling her out of bed and helping her to the bathroom.

Which is what I usually do. On my own.

All these things that I could do, that I've taken for granted, were now cruelly snatched away from me, by none other than Brianna Wyatt. Well now legally Brianna Morgan.

I watched her with Millie. The way she gently held her little hand and combed through her blonde knots carefully. She looked like she really cared. Millie smiled up at her and Brianna returned the smile, so full of love? No way.

I stared as Brianna squirted the toothpaste onto the little brush and helped her brush her teeth, and rinsed her mouth and toweled her face dry.

Then Millie turned to Brianna and said in her high-pitched voice, "Thank you Wielleey."

The smile dropped of Brianna's face quicker than lightning.

She turned her to me her face a picture of stone cold hatred.

Then she turned and left leaving me gaping after her and Millie clutching a soggy towel wondering what she's done wrong.

As we walked through the school doors. Brianna'a whole demeanor changed, she suddenly shuffled closer to me, then she shocked me right through by linking her arm through mine.

I was just about to protest in disgust when Dave ducked over.

"Hey Riley is it me or am I seeing two of you." He asked with a dopey dazed expression.

"Shut up Dave." I mumbled as I punched him lightly on the shoulder. He grinned, and his hand darted to slap my a$$. I gripped it just in time. And yanked it away from me.

"Dave, for flip-sake will you just stop!?" Huffing I stormed past him, rolling my eyes at his snickers behind us.

Dave was that person in your life that is constantly hitting on you, but you never know if it actually serious or if it's all a joke.
