That night, Deidara looked up at the clear midnight sky. The twinkling stars contrasted greatly with the black canvas which they were scattered upon. He noticed a faintly glimmering star - its pale red complexion was barely noticeable.
He gave a pained smile and mumbled, "I'll be seeing you soon, Danna."
Continuing on his path, the skies were soon hidden by leafy branches which stretched overhead like a canopy. He dragged his feet, the lively bounce gone from his step. His once bright grin was replaced by a thin line of grief.
Everything was gone.
Deidara reached the edge of the foliage. The leaves parted, creating an opening which could barely fit one person through. He bent his legs and ducked through the crevice.
A rocky ledge extended far above another forest; its leaves rustled in the cool breeze. A panoramic view of the heavens laid before the young man as he took his usual seat on edge of the overhang. Glancing to his right, he gripped the soil and felt the sandy texture between his fingers. Grimacing, his eyes clouded over. "It just isn't the same without you here."
~~~
"I told you not to join me so soon."
"But I missed you..."
"Idiot."
~~~
And the pair shined brighter than any constellation.
