I was still crying when we left the picnic area.
"Are you sure you're okay? You've seemed teary since I tied your shoe." Alex joked.
":-sniff-: Yeah I'm fine, you just really surprised me and I'm so happy right now. I love you so much I never thought this day would come." I said.
"Well the surprise isn't over yet." He replied.
We pulled into my driveway and there were white and black balloons tied to the front porch and door.
I unlocked it and went into the pitch black darkness. Alex flipped on the light and the room light up with joy.
"SUPRISE!!!!!!" Everyone yelled. And by everyone I mean my older brother Jay, my mom, my grandparents, my best friend Tonya whom I've loved forever and Alex's parents.
I started bawling again and a cake appeared with little drinks and appetizer food. Presents were on the table and everyone started eating and me and Alex we're opening presents with our parents. We got little gifts and typical engagement present stuff but the last one really got to my. It was a pretty small box.
The last one was handed to me and I carefully unwrapped the paper to find a little white box about 3 inches high. I opened it and inside was 2 sets of keys. One looked like a lock key or house key and the other looked like a car key.....
"Oh my God, did you get me a CAR?!?" I yelled.
"Well, not exactly, it's keys to a bigger car for future kids but you won't need it until then." My mom smiled. I put the keys in the box and put it with the other gifts. I hugged everyone as they each left and wished us good luck on our future. When everyone was gone, we could sit and breathe. We didn't really do anything new, we just put in a movie and fell asleep.
... About 5 months later, there was a wedding and not long after, there was a kid coming along and her first word, was flower....
