I heard beeping when I woke up. It was a heart monitor. I couldn't open my eyes because of the tape on them. I couldn't talk because of the tube in my throat. All I could do was hear and move.
Move.
I started moving my hands and feet. Someone noticed because the tape was taken off my eyes and the tube was removed. I opened my eyes to the blinding lights of the ICU wing. It was dark in some of the hallways. The doctor started saying things and I listened."Hello, I'm Doctor Nazarada." She said. She had an accent that I couldn't place.
"You were beaten by a young girl and she is in custody of the police for questioning. You are safe." She explained.
I looked around and I saw five roses. Wilted and dying. Alex. My eyes rated to water and tears slid down my cheek.
"Are you alright hun?" Nazarada asked.
"Y-yes. I'm fine. Who brought these?" I asked still crying.
"Umm I believe it was a young boy. He brought those in to the front desk, asked for you by name. He said,'Where is my girlfriend? Her name is Allyssa Walton.'" She quoted.
"He has brought one to you each month you were asleep." She said.
I looked at them again. "Why are they dead?" I asked.
Doctor Nazarada looked down at the clipboard she had.
"You've been in a coma for about 5 months." She said."How? I was just beat up!" I protested.
"Well, you suffered from some serious wounds and a few of your ribs were fractured from the girl sitting on you. And your leg was broken and you were in shock." Nazarada explained.
Nazarada stood and left. I kept running everything through my head.
Five months. And Alex still brought me flowers. Is he okay? Does he know anything?
