Chapter 12: MRDs

~~~~Back at the Institute~~~~

"Kurt, Maxi!" A voice says from inside the building and Kitty comes right through the walls and hugs us both.

"Hallo Kitty!" Me and Kurt both say at the same time.

"Where were you guys, are you OK?"
Kitty starts asking us a bunch of questions.

"Well we should probably tell everyone so that everyone knows but we are OK now except we're kind of tired."

"OK I'll get everyone to go to the room where Professor Xavier is."

When we got to the room, everyone was there. Peter, Hank, Kitty, Ororo, Logan, Bobby, Forge, Warren, and... Emma Frost? I instantly put up my mental wall but she just smirks at me.

"What happened to you guys?" Bobby says and looks at us expectantly.

"Well, after we left to help people get to Genosha we were attacked by pirates and we won, but after we got to Genosha we were welcomed by Magneto who we found out was using the powers of the mutants who were coming to his island seeking refuge. We almost made it back here by teleporting but we were attacked by Mystique and brought back to Genosha to be imprisoned. We were then captured by one of the pirates who we saw on the shipand put into a Hunger Games like arena, where we saw Logan again and had to fight because he was being mind controlled by Mojo." After this I was out of breath and everyone was starring at me with surprise.

"Wow Maxi, I didn't know you could talk that much." Bobby replies almost laughing.

"Well I had to get it out and I'm tired so I simply made it go faster." I say a little irritated because I'm ready to fall asleep.

"Hey, calm down, we just haven't heard you talk so much..." Hank tries to say but I'm already angry so I interrupt him.

"You know what, I'm just going upstairs to sleep, so if you need me then you'll have to wait." And I leave to go to my room and hear silence until the door closes behind me.

~~~Kurt's P.O.V~~~

"What was that all about,  Kurt?" Kitty asks me.

"I don't know Kitty, she seemed fine until we had the meeting." Then Emma speaks up.

"I do believe I know why she's upset, though her mental wall was almost impossible to penetrate."I look at her with curiosity as she says this and she continues.

"She just got the chance to think about everything that happened while you were gone and she came across a disturbing memory that made her confused and a tad bit angry, and she didn't know who to tell so she was a little frustrated."

"Do you know what happened that made her so upset?" I ask, because it seemed like Emma was trying to avoid it.

"Well she realized that I was getting this from her and quickly reformed her wall so... no."

"We're going to need to find out so that we can help her," I say and we leave to go upstairs.

~~~Back to Maxi's P.O.V~~~

A walk into my old room and see the same beds from when I used to sleep here with Kurt and a practice dummy, well I might as well blow off some steam. For the next 30 minutes I slash and stab at the dummy with my sword while listening to the song I Can't Be With You, The Cranberries until I hear a small knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I ask while still fighting the dummy.

"It's Kurt, can I come in?" Oh yeah I locked the door.

"Sorry I was kind of upset earlier." I say while I open the door and Kurt comes in with, of course, Emma Frost.

"I thought you said you were going to sleep." Emma says.

"I had something better to do." I say while stabbing the dummy in its stomach.

"Maxi, was ist los?" Kurt asks.

I stop fighting to look at him and say, "Emma, do you mind, I mean you'll probably be listening from the other side of the door anyways."

When she leaves with a small scowl on her face I smile at Kurt in a not so happy way.

"Remember when we came back to the institute and we were attacked by Mystique, who we thought was Logan?"

"Ja..."

"Well right before she knocked me out she said something that I've started to think about only recently, and it makes no sense."

"Well what did she say?" Kurt asks.

"So this is what they did to you, I guess your other body is still in Genosha." I look up at Kurt and his eyes have gone wide, but then a voice comes on the speakers.

"Will everyone come to the mission room, we're about to leave." It's Hank and he doesn't sound like he's joking.

"We better go, don't want to keep everyone waiting." I say and Kurt nods in agreement. When we get there everyone is already in their suits.

"Hey slow pokes what kept you so long?" Bobby says and I give him a look that says 'Oh be quiet.' I teleport into my suit and we get into the Blackbird to go to... "Hey Logan, where are we going?"

"We're about to free a bunch of mutants from a MRD prison, but we're going to be stealthy about it so that the press doesn't find out about it, all you have to do is teleport inside and get them out of their cells, by teleporting."

"Ok will the cameras be off?"

"Yes, we're approaching the base now so get ready."

I see the fences surrounding the perimeter of the fence and the military vehicles prowling the prison grounds.

"This will be easy, Ja?"

"A piece of cake." Logan replies with a smile on his face.
