~~ The next day~~
Rylie's POV:
" Pleeeeease Tylerrrr" a voice said. I recognized it as Josh's voice. Now I'm wide awake, but decide to keep my eyes closed and listen... Yes listening to their conversation was rude, but I can't resist."Josh, she lied to us before, who know what else could happen. All that we know, or think we know, is that she's a victim of abuse who moved out here to escape her mom." Tyler spoke. I couldn't help but be hurt. One of my only friends thinks I'm a liar. To be fair, I did lie to them, but that was to protect all of us.
"That's exactly why we should help her! She has no job, no house, and no family out here!" Josh spoke, his voice sharp.
"Josh we just met her. Don't tell me you already like her! You need to think rationally about this!" Tyler yelled. I couldn't help but flinch. As soon as I did I held my breath, nobody said anything so I pretend to still be asleep. They continue to talk quietly.
"Tyler I thought you cared about people. What happened to liking helping people?" Josh whispered.
"Fine Josh. Figure it out." Tyler sighed. I heard him turn on his heel, and slam the door. I open my eyes, thinking it would be a safe idea to "wake up". I see Josh sitting on the chair, bent forward, his head in his hands. I clear my throat, and he looks up.
" Hey Ry, how do ya feel?" He says forcing a smile. I can't help but giggle a little at his messy hair sticking out in all directions.
"Much better, thank you Joshy" I tease him. He chuckles.
"Hey Ry?"
"Yea?"
" What were you planning to do once you got here? Are you staying with anybody?" He asks.
"Nope, I was going to try to look for a job and live at a cheap motel until I could afford an apartment." I reply. He looks at me confused.
"Hey Ry?" He asks with puppy dog eyes
"Yea?" I reply
"Would you maybe wanna stay at my house? I don't want you to have to be at a crappy motel. I won't mind, I promise" he says smiling. Jeez, he looks like a toddler begging for candy.
"Hmmm, let me check with my people" I smirk. I pretend to fight with myself, playing the roles of many people. I smirk again.
"I would love to Joshy" I smile. His face lights up, like he finally got some candy. He gets up and hugs me, kissing my forehead. I turn ruby red, and he does the same. The nurse comes in, and he leaves.
" Here are your clothes that you were brought in wearing, and here are your papers. Just sign here, and you're good to go" she says handing me the pile. I smile at her and sign the papers. She says a faint goodbye, and exits. I sigh, and struggle to get my sweatpants on. I'm in the middle of changing, when the door opens.
" Hey Ry, Jenna is here so when you're ready to go--" he stops in his tracks and turns bright red. He quickly covers his eyes, and I attempt to cover myself.
" I am so sorry Rylie" he says.
"It's okay" I say sliding on my shirt. I walk over to him and pull his hands away from his face. He smiles and picks me up, bridal style.
Josh's POV:
I can't believe I just did that. I should have knocked, and I'm glad she was at least wearing a bra. The bruises that I saw were so dark and I turned red. I covered my eyes, and in a few minutes the uncovers my face. I pick her up bridal style, and take her to Jenna's car. I open the door only to see a happy Jenna, and a moody Tyler. He won't even look at me."You must be Rylie!! It's so great to meet you!!" Says Jenna.
"Thank you, and I'm glad to meet you too! Hey Tyler" Rylie says, forcing a smile. Tyler nods his head to acknowledge her, and looks annoyed. My mind flashes back to our argument this morning.
"Hey Tyler? I was wondering if maybe Rylie could come on tour with us in the spring?" I said. He looked at me, annoyance plastered his face. He hadn't taken the news well the she lied to us. He was pissed. Really pissed.
" I don't think that's a good idea, Josh" he replied.
"Pleeeeease Tylerrrr?" I begged.
"Josh, she lied to us before, who know what else could happen. All that we know, or think we know, is that she's a victim of abuse who moved out here to escape her mom." He snapped back. I was getting mad. Really mad.
"That's exactly why we should help her! She has no house, no job, and no family out here!" I snapped.
"Josh we just met her. Don't tell me you already like her! You need to think rationally about this!" Tyler yelled. I felt my face burn red hot.
"Tyler I thought you cared about people. What happened to liking helping people?!" I yelled. Tyler looked at me harshly before sighing and speaking again.
"Fine Josh. Figure it out." He said before turning on his heel and slamming the door.
~~Flashback over~~
Tyler and I rarely seriously fight, but I know that he is very upset. I know Rylie was trying to protect us, and herself. I still can't believe the way that he reacted. I got in the car and Jenna began driving.
"So where to?" Jenna asks.
" I want food. That hospital food sucked." Tyler states. Good to know his attitude hadn't improved. Jenna gave him a disapproving look before asking where we wanted food from. We decided on Chipotle over Taco Bell... That would surely help Tyler's mood. We pulled into the chipotle and got out of the car. After getting our food, we sat down and began to eat: me and Rylie on one side of the booth, and Jenna and Tyler on the other. When we were done eating, we got into the car to begin our thirty minute drive to my house. Almost immediately I felt something on my shoulder; Rylie had fallen asleep on me. God she is beautiful.
Tyler's POV:
It's not that I don't like Rylie, there's just something about her that I can't trust. She's confusing me because I think I might like her. I need her to go away, so when Josh suggested she comes on tour with us, I freaked out. She lied to us, and I won't ever forget that. I don't want to hurt Jenna, and I certainly don't wanna fight with Josh. This girl is going to mean nothing but bad news from now on. I can tell.
