Josh's POV:

I opened my eyes to reveal blinding white light. I squinted my eyes shut until they could adjust. I looked down and saw that I was wearing different clothes. White skinnies, white converse, a white teeshirt, and a white leather jacket. What the hell? I heard a giggle and turned around. There was A man who was also dressed in all white. Two bowls appeared.

"Choose" the man said. I looked at him confused, and he gestured to the bowls. One held drumsticks, the other held a knife. I chose the drumsticks for many reasons: one, music can solve almost any problem and two, I could never kill something, and would have no use for the knife. The man smiled, and disappeared. I heard snickering, and a dark figure appeared. Blurryface.

"You wanna live?" He asked in his menacing voice.

"Yes" I replied.

"Then fight for it" he said. He smirked before raising a blade, and charging at me.

Tyler's POV:

Josh has been in surgery for eight hours now, and to say the least, I'm loosing hope. Kevin and Jenna fell asleep a few hours ago, and Rylie hasn't moved. I'm not even sure that she's breathing. We've all tried to get her out of her daze, but have had no luck.

My stomach rumbled in protest to me not eating in almost two days. I think I saw a vending machine in the lobby. I stood up, and walked to the lobby. My footsteps echoed in the abandoned hallways. The clock on the wall read 3:23 am. The lobby was almost deserted. Only an older gentleman sat on a chair. I nodded in acknowledgement to him, and walked to the vending machine. I bought a water for Rylie, and and coke for me. I saw Oreos, and figured why not? I bought two packages of Oreos before turning on my heel, snacks in hand. The man spoke.

"Josh is a fighter, he'll pull through" he said. I nodded, and kept walking. Wait, how did he know about Josh? I turned around to face the man, but he had vanished. I shook my head and walking back into the waiting room. Everybody was exactly how I had left them. I sat in the corner by Rylie.

"Ry?" I asked. Nothing.

"It's not your fault you know. He'll pull through, and when he does, you need to be healthy. Zoning out and not eating is going to make you sick. I know your brain is sick right now, so until Josh is back, I'm going to take care of you. So will Jenna and Kevin. We all want to help" I said. She sighed, and leaned her head on my shoulder. I smiled at her actually moving, a gave her a side hug.

"That a girl, now here, eat and drink" I said while handing her the Oreos and water. She smiled, and accepted them. I opened my coke and Oreos, and ate them happily. It was a long time before Rylie spoke up again.

"Tyler, what if he dies?" She asked. I shook my head.

"He won't Ry, he's strong, he'll make it" I said... I'm trying to convince her as well as myself I think.

Josh's POV:
I look down at my once pure white clothes that are now caked in blood, mud, and ash. I had fought blurryface through mud and burning buildings, but by me choosing the drumsticks, I could only fight with music... He had a baseball bat. The blood was mine, and the music was proving to be ineffective. The only thing that kept me going was Rylie. She would likely do something rash if I died, so I'm fighting for the both of us.

"Final test Dun, pass this, and your fate will be decided" he said. Flames arose all around me, burning my skin. I screamed in pain and he laughed. I began running. The fire still burning me made my movements even more painful. I tripped, and the fire closed in. I began to think I could just lay here and die.. The pain would be over. No Josh, that's what he wants. Get up and run. I stumbled back to my feet, and kept running. I didn't stop until I reached a white light. The pain stopped, and I could faintly hear people talking.

"Yes, Mr. Joseph, he will be just fine. He's a fighter, ya know?" A voice said.

"I know, it's just that, it's been two weeks... What if he doesn't wake up?"Tyler's hoarse voice said.

"He will" a voice said. Where the hell am I?

"Thank you doc" Tyler's hoarse voice spoke. Wait doc? I'm in a hospital? My mind began to race until Tyler spoke again.

"Hey Josh, it's Ty... Listen buddy, I thought you died. You scared the living shit out of me. Please wake up soon. Rylie is a mess, and your cousin feels horrible. The only reason your alive is because he checked your pulse again. The doctors say you may never wake up, but I told them you will. Rylie thinks you're dead, and won't listen to us when we tell her otherwise. I guess what I'm trying to say is please wake up, if not for me, for her" he said.

"I'm going crazy talking to myself, so I'm going to pretend like you're listening. So, my grandma called and was like,' where are you?' And I was like,' grandma chill, I'm at Taco Bell' and then she yelled at me for eating "junk" so I hung up. Then my mom called and wanted to know why I hung up in my grandma, so I told her, and she hung up on me. Now I'm sad. When you wake up can we get Taco Bell?" He said. I was trying really hard to not smile, but my smile broke through anyway. I opened my eyes to see him holding his head in his hands.

"You shouldn't hang up on your grandma, it's rude, you asshole" I laughed. His head snapped up and he hugged me.

"You little shit! You were awake the entire time?" He yelled. I laughed and nodded my head. My laugh turned into a coughing fit, which made Tyler frown.

"Take it easy bud. You lost a shit ton of blood, and they had to replace one of your lungs, and restart your heart" he said. My eyes widened.

"Holy shit... Where's Rylie? Is her mom dead?" I asked.

"One, right?! Two, downstairs, and three, yes, the bitch is dead" he replied. I heard a knock on the door, and it opened to reveal Rylie.

"Josh?" She asked, confusion written all over her face.

"Hey babe" I said with a smirk. She tackled me in a hug.

"I thought you died" she said.

"You can't get rid of me that easy" I said. I fought for us, and now I finally have her back.
