"Let's go home." Soda said.

"And get dry." Pony said.

 "Alright." I said.

We got out of the fountain and walked home soaking wet. Two-Bit and Steve were still playing poker when we came into the house.

"What happened?" Steve said.

"And where is Soda and Superdope anyways?"

Darry and Soda came in behind us laughing and being themselves. I waited for Pony to get out of the shower, but I'd fallen asleep drying off. The thunderstorm had woken me and Pony up. I was in my pajamas and was in bed with Pony.

"Pony, gotta light?" I asked.

"Yeah." he said.

I found a candle and lit it. Soda was standing in the middle of the kitchen; still as a statue. "Soda?" I said.

 "Yeah?" he said.

  "Are you OK?"

 "Can you move?"

 "Yeah."

"Why are you standing in the middle of the kitchen?"

"I-I miss Mom and Dad badly." he sobbed.

I lighted more candles and hugged Soda. Pony had chocolate milk and cake and sat it next to Soda. Darry had came in the living room and saw the three of us on the floor with out backs against the couch.

We had woken up and all of the candles were blown out.

Breakfast made and on the table and Darry said, "I'm confused. Why are you at the bottom?" I figured out what he was talking about and I blushed.

"You guys took up most space." I said.

Two-Bit and Steve had came in loudly.

 "Anyone home?" they shouted.

"In here." Pony and I said. I made a face as I rubbed my neck.

"You alright lil mama?" Darry said.

"My neck feels funny." I said.

"Did you sleep funny?" Two-Bit asked rubbing my neck.

"Oh, you did." Pony said.

 "How?"

"Your head was on my shoulder blade. I moved it so you wouldn't break it."

 "Thanks."

"Look at the non-blond headed monkey!" Two-Bit said.

"I'm glad his hair isn't blond, cuz it makes him look stupid." I said, running my fingers through his hair. They always loved it when I ran my fingers in their hair, and scratch their scalp. I finished the dishes and saw Two-Bit eating chocolate cake. It was all over his face.

When I came back from the store, I'd tripped over the stair in the door.

"You're getting like me everyday." Two-Bit said.

"Yeah, no kidding. If I had the sense of billy goat, I'd stop worryin' about all of you guys." I said.

I heard a horn honk outside. It was Randy. I went out and started talking to him.

"It's not even." I said looking at the ground.

 "What?" he said.

"Johnny and Dallas died. Bob's dead too. It's two to one."
