It's the year 1967. It's raining again for the third week straight.

"I'm going to the store." I said.

"Be careful in the rain." Darry said.

"Hurry back." Soda said kissing my head.

 "Be safe." Pony said.

I went to the nearest store and went to the isle where the books where. There was one book that had caught my eye. I went home with the groceries and was excited.

"Guys!" I shouted.

They came in from Pony's room goofing around.

"What's going on?" Soda said.

"Look at this book." I gave them the book and put the groceries away.

"'The Outsiders by Ponyboy Curtis.' Ponyboy......Pony....PONYBOY!!!!" Soda shouted they picked him up in excitement and hollered.

"See? I told you." I said. "Yeah, yeah." he said. From that day forward, the English assignment Pony wrote was the beginning of a new story and a new life of us Curtis'. Even to this day I still remember those life changing words: " When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home."
