Lean was holding Equius's hand awkwardly as they were on their way to meet their friends. The usual.

They were both bundled up for warmth, today Lean seemed a lot more distant then usual, Equius didn't notice this. Suddenly they came to a complete stop. Lean looked up at Equius then looked at what he was looking at.

It was her with Sollux... It was Aradia, laughing and giggling.

Equius looked at Aradia like she was Goddess, like there was no flaws.

Equius looked at her like she was the queen, like she was perfect.

As he did every time he saw Aradia.

Lean knew she couldn't deny it any longer. Equius loves Aradia not her.

Lean let go of his hand and began to walk off.

Equius snapped out of his trance when he felt her hand leave his. He lightly grabbed her wrist, "Lean where are you going."

Lean choked up for a moment, as a tear ran down her cheek. She turned around and looked at him with a sad smile.

"I know you love her, Equius..." She paused as she swallowed hard, more tears coming down.

"I know when you look at me you see her I know you're heart belong to her not me and I can't deny this fact anymore I love you so much but I know I've always known you've never loved me. Every time she's around you stare at her like you should be staring at me, I know I'm just some rebound to try and get you over your crush on Aradia. Frankly I can't do it anymore, Equius w-we're done" Lean finished.

"L-Lean wait plea-" Equius was cut off by Lean, "No Equius I can't do it I'm sorry.."

Lean cupped his cheeks, standing on her tipy toes, she gave him a small peck on his lips as she whispered "Goodbye."

With that Lean turned around and walked away, tears streaming down her face.

Equius stood on the middle of the bridge as he watched her petite chubby figure walk away.
