Chapter 7

Shane's pov

I stand up and put all our food in the fridge as i brush myself off. I move my shirt and there are bright red hand marks on both my shoulders. Deans hands are like fire when he's mad, note to self, change alone in gym class from now on.

I walk upstairs and see joey asleep on my bed. Slowly i sit down near him and i look at his face. He was ice cold and pale, his entire body shivered and i pulled a soft blanket over him, i laid next to him a good distance across the bed just so i wouldn't weird him out. I stared at his  features and i smiled when his nose twitched and his eyelids jerked in his sleep.

Shane: You're precious.

I moved a few strands of his hair out of his face and i slowly drifted off as my body was at rest.

Joey's pov

I was in a bright room and everything around me was white including my clothes. There was nothing but light here there and everywhere and i started to get a headache.

Joey: Hello?

No one answered and i just started walking. In the distance i saw a black dot and slowly it was getting bigger, then i realized it wasn't coming towards me. It was coming straight at me, i quickly spun on my heels and i dashed trying to get away from the black streaks coming towards me.

The white area soon became black and fire erupted around me burning and darkening my clothes as i screamed.

Voice: YOU HAVE MADE A MISTAKE JOSEPH!!!

I screamed and the ground beneath my feet disappeared as i fell through a hole and the fire began to become dim. A hand reached out to me as i fell and i heard the man scream.

Joey: HELP ME!

The world was shaking and everything went black and i saw shane hovering over me

*End of dream*

Shane: Oh thank god you're awake. You were having a nightmare.

Joey: I-it was so scary shane.

I started to cry and i hid my face in my hands as i screamed. I then felt two warm arms wrap themselves around me and a chest prest against my head.

Shane: Shhh it's over now joey. Hush joey it's alright.

I cried into his chest and i held him close as he rocked and shushed me like he would for a baby. For the first time in forever i felt loved, i felt like someone cared for me on a deeper level than friendship. Maybe best friend ship, i can't say a relationship because that's too much.

Shane: Shh, you're safe with me joey. You're safe in my arms i promise.

I nodded and i felt a calmness over me and i relaxed in his arms after another hour. My tears had calmed down and i just had a bit of bouncy breathing. Shane's grip never once loosened or lost it's love.

Shane's pov

It was two hours later when joey finally had calmed down. But neither of us were tired, if i could i would just hold this angel forever but that can't be that case. I was taken out of my thoughts when i heard a rumbling.

Joey: Sorry, my tummy growled.

He giggled and i smiled wiping some of the tears that hadn't dried.

Shane: Well are you hungry?

Joey: Um duh. What time is it?

Shane: About four am.

Joey: Won't we wake people up?

Shane: No don't worry, let's go.

I stood up and i looked at my shirt. It was stained with tears and drool, so i just pulled it off and i changed into a different shirt and we went downstairs.

Joey: Nice six pack by the way.

Shane: Thanks it took me forever to get it.

I'm kidding, with vampire speed and stregnth i could work out for weeks and not be tired. So i got these abs in about a day. I sat joey on the counter and i got out the bags of food from the fridge.

Joey: AHH THE DEVIL!!!

Shane: WHAT? WHERE?!?!

Joey: THAT!!!

He pointed to the pizza that i bought and i let out a deep breath knowing it wasn't the real thing. I glared and joey started laughing.

Shane: You scared the shit out of me joey.

Joey: Good, because pizza is the devil in reality.

Shane: You're something different joey.

He smiled and i let out a small smirk. He finally settled with a chicken rice thing that i bought and i just ate the devil apparently.

Emma's pov

I was at the top of the stair well listening in on them laughing and enjoying themselves. I havent enjoyed myeslf in over fifty years. Damn i sound like a little old grandma gross. I shivered and i walked to jaden's room. He was still awake and staring at the ceiling.

He's still the same age as me and shane but he was fifteen when he got changed, poor guy saw his mother get eaten. To this day he cries about the dark memories. It breaks my heart, that's why i spend so much time with him.

Emma: Hey buddy.

Jaden: H-Hi.

Emma: You doing alright?

He shrugs and i sit on his bed wrapping an arm around him tightly.

Emma: You been practicing your powers?

Jaden: Mhm.

Emma: Show them to me.

He smiled and stood up closing his eyes. His feet lightly floated off the ground and i giggled as his smiled. I clapped and he looked so proud as he got back on the ground. I hugged him and i sighed, so badly i just wanted to leave this place. Have a life of my own that's not filled with my powers and abilities, i call it a curse honestly.

But if i leave that means that i'm leaving jaden. Yes he has isaac but he's usually busy about one of us being found out or one of us being hurt. That and he's always face first into his demon shit so i just don't worry about him too much. Jaden is basically a little boy, he needs someone to hug and love. He needs someone to look up to and isaac isn't the best example.

Jaden: I'm still sleepy.

Emma: Then sleep J.

He smiled and laid down as i tucked him in and kissed his forehead as i walked back out of the room over to mine. I don't want to live like this but i don't have a choice.
