New home (Chapter 5)

Y/n POV

Nico lead you, Jayden, Dean, and Kylie to the campfire where Connor Stoll motioned you all to come over and sit with him and his brother, Travis.

"Come on Y/n you can sit by me" he said as he grabbed your hand and started walking towards the campfire.

"I think i'll sit by Nico and my friends, but thanks Connor" you say as you escape Connors grasp and sit between Nico and Dean.

"Nice escape" Kylie says smiling.

"Why, thank you" you say back.

After half an hour of sing alongs and s'mores, Jayden, Dean, and Kylie all headed towards the Hermes cabin with Travis and Connor (Connor, who seemed disappointed).

"So, which way to the Zeus cabin?" you ask Nico.

"This way" he says as he grabs your arm and you two weave through the crowd of campers.

Instead of leading you to towards one of the cabins, he walks right into the shadows of the woods.

"Where are you taking me?" you ask really confused.

'It's not enough that i almost got killed twice today but he just has to drag you into the woods for god knows what' you thought as he turns around to face you.

"I want to show you something" he says putting out his hand for you to take "but we'll have to shadow travel there to make it quick, curfew is in fifteen minutes"

"Where are you taking me exactly?" you ask

"It's a surprise" he says as he gives you a small smile.

'He rarely smiles' you thought

"Promise you won't kill me?" you say glaring at him playfully

"Y/n, I promise" he said smiling a bit more.

He smiles a once more as you take his hand and the two of you are engulfed in darkness.

Nico's POV

Y/n took my hand and i shadow traveled us up to Half-blood hill.

"Where are we?" Y/n asked turning to face me

"On the top of Half-blood hill. You didn't get to see the full view of camp when you came in so i figured i'd show you" i answered gesturing towards the view.

"Wow! It's so-" she started

"Beautiful" i finished for her

"You read my mind." she said smirking

She looked out at the scenery

"Amazing" she whispered "I guess this is my new home"

"Well some people go home after summer you can too if you want" I explained

"Well i don't think i'll be going back other wise i'll just be in foster care all the time" she sighs

"Well then you can stay year round, like me" I say giving her a reassuring smile

"They let you stay? but i thought it was just a summer camp" she says

"Well, this is the only safe place for demigods" I say looking at her e/c eyes

"I guess so" she said staring out at camp

"We should get back, curfew is in five minutes" i said holding out my hand for her

"Alright" she sighed as she took my hand and we shadow traveled back to camp.,

~At the Zeus cabin~

"Thanks Nico, for everything. You saved my life today. You've been a good friend to me" she said

My heart did a little flip in my chest "F-friend"

"Yes, we are friends aren't we?" she asked

"Yes, of course it's just... that... no one's ever called me their friend before... everyone just... seems to avoid me all the time" I said with a sudden interest in my shoes.

"Well now you've got me as your friend" she said taking my hands in her's

"Thanks Y/n" i said smiling a little

She was about to say something until Jason walked out of the Zeus cabin

"About time" Jason said mid-yawn

Y/n laughed "Bye Nico" she said as she walked into the Zeus cabin. "Bye Y/n" I whispered.

Y/n POV

"Welcome to your new cabin" Jason said as we walked into the Zeus cabin.

You looked around it was massive, the dome-shaped ceiling decorated with moving mosaics of a cloudy sky and thunder bolts. The sounds of thunder echoing through the room. No furniture occupies the room at all except for the two bunks on opposite sides of the room. It kind of looks like a bank. Bunks on either side of the room centered by one intimidating statue of Zeus in the middle just sitting there glaring down at you. You remembered when you were outside the cabin it looked like a white marble box, with heavy, white columns in the front. The entrance polished bronze doors that shimmer like a hologram with lightning bolts streaked down them.

"Wow do you really sleep in here every night with that staring at you?" you asked gesturing towards the statue of Zeus.

"Yeah, it's pretty intimidating but you get used to it" he says leading you over to an empty bunk

You sit down on the bottom bunk and Jason hands you a grey sleeping bag.

"So, who's Piper's godly parent?" you ask remembering Jason's girlfriend

"Aphrodite" he says and walks over to his own bunk

"Oh, i wouldn't have guessed that"

"Most people are surprised too" he says laying down on his bed "But she can charmspeak so it's not completely impossible"

"Charmspeak?" you ask

"She can show you tomorrow , but basically a type of hypnotism or persuasion which allows her to convince someone else to do anything" he explains

"Cool" you half whisper

"Not as cool as getting a new sister, that's not everyday you know" he says

"I've never had a brother before. All i've had is Jayden, Dean, and Kylie, they are the only ones who have been there for me. I haven't really had many good friends until i met them. And then i came here, even though the only people i've met so far is you, Nico and Will" you explain

"I can introduce you to my friends" he offers "they're great i'm sure they'll love you, you are my sister after all" he says grinning

You shoot him a playful glare "Tomorrow it is then, goodnight"

"Night sis" you both laugh as you slowly fall asleep to the sounds of thunder.
