Two days passed before Silvano woke up in a cold sweat at the crack of dawn. His eyes darted around the room before stopping at Jay who was sitting in the rafters, her head dropping like she was about to fall asleep before she jerked it back up again, blinking as she saw that Silvano was awake and jumping to the ground, landing softly.
"Bout time you woke up, do you ever sleep?" She asked. He stared at her not speaking, realizing her face was the one from the dream. "I-I... "
"Nightmares still messing with you?" She asked in a surprisingly soft tone.
"N-no I just.... Thought you were someone else," he lied. She shrugged, sitting down in front of him and hugging knees to chest.
"I get nightmares too, so you're not alone there. You slept for a good two days-" She stopped, yawning loudly despite her obvious attempt not to, before finishing "Good two days straight. Beginning to wonder if you were gonna wake up."
He froze. "Wait you were watching over me...?" he asked, his voice quieter than usual. She nodded.
"After your first one I stayed up to make sure you didn't have anymore." She responded casually "They can be quite nasty sometimes after all." He nodded and turned slightly red considering someone had watched him sleep, making her chuckle a bit.
"I think the fact that," She stopped again for another yawn before continuing "I'm a weird vamp has already been established."
He patted beside him and turned a darker shade of red. "You need to sleep."
She shook her head "No no I'm" Another yawn "I'm fine."
"You're yawning a lot. Go to sleep. I'll keep watch."
She shook her head and smiled, though her eyes showed the tiredness in her eyes "No I'm fine, I've gone a week without sleeping I can go" Another yawn "Go two or three days without sleeping."
"No. You've been watching over me now I'm watching over you now sleep."
Jay's smile turned into a glare "No."
He looked at his hands and nodded. "Okay fine you win..." he whispered before standing up and walking to the escape ladder that led to the roof, climbing it quickly. She raised her eyebrow at him.
"Italian boy it's daytime ya tryin to kill ya self?" She asked in a slightly Southern accent, her knowing smirk appearing on her face. Despite her comment he continued to climb, ignoring her, before sitting at the top rung of the ladder and grabbing a hold of the rafters. She raised her eyebrow again before getting up, jumping up on the ledges to the rafters before jumping from rafter to rafter till she sat like a frog in front of him.
"Now just what do you think you're doing?" She inquired.
He slid his legs out of the ladder rungs and started to swing from rafter to rafter. She chuckled a bit.
"Well you seem more monk-" She yawned again "more monkey than bat now."
His eyes flashed black and red and started yelling "Would you just go to sleep already!" She raised her eyebrow before sitting on the rafter with her feet dangling, facing towards him.
"Well, I'm annoying, so no, but why the yelling?" Jay asked, her comment causing his eyes to return to normal. "I just... Nothing. Just go to bed already," he grunted before grabbing his coat and walking out of the barn.
"Fine get back in here and I'll sleep!" She yelled after him, jumping down from the rafters, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
He grinned and walked back in before sitting back in the corner and waiting for Jay to fall asleep.
