Ow Jay thought as she first regained consciousness. Pain shot up her legs, her feet feeling completely numb. Memories of what happened surfaced and her eyes shot open before she closed them tightly, light coming from nearby lamps being too much.
Wait why are there lamps...? Without opening her eyes she tried to take in her surrounding. She was on something soft, rather than the cold, hard rock she remembered passing out on, and she felt something holding her hand.
Pain shot up her leg again and she groaned quietly, trying to open her eyes slower than last time to adjust to the light. Silvano slowly lifted his head off of the side of the bed and looked at Jay, who blinked a few times before looking over at him.
"S-Silvano...?" She asked before coughing, not having used her voice for a while. He squeezed her hand and nodded.
"Yeah. You okay? You took a few good days to get some of your wounds healed."
Jay gave him a pained smile "Feel like a million bucks..." She muttered before looking down at her legs, which she couldn't see from the blanket over her "How bad is it...?" He sighed and let go of her hand, lacing his hands together and resting his head on top of them.
"Third degree. Almost couldn't help you. In fact... I shouldn't be in here. The nurses wouldn't let me so I snuck in..." he admitted shyly. She chuckled softly, resting her head against the pillow and closing her eyes again.
"How do you feel...?" She asked. Silvano stood up, scooting the chair back and lifting his shirt up to show the bandages covering his chest and abdomen. "Well at first it felt like I got ran over by a truck but the nurses gave me some morphine." She turned slightly red while looking at the bandages and nodded.
"Might need some of that so that they feeling of having stepped in acid will go away..." She muttered to herself before remembering part of the fight and looking up at Silvano "How do you know the dark vampyre's leader exactly...?"
"He's my father." Her eyes widened "Wow ok... No wonder you hate him then..."
He shrugged. "I never really knew he was a 'Dark vampyre leader' til last week."
"Makes sense, few know who he is. I only knew because of him and Max talking before you came... Thank you for coming though..."
He smiled a friendly grin. "Anything for a comrade." When he said friend she bit her lip and looked away, accidently saying out loud "Still just friends then..."
"W-well I mean... Yeah. Right...?" he questioned, unsure of what she meant. She turned bright red.
"I... Um..." She tried to find the right words before giving up and shrugging. They sat in awkward silence before he cleared his throat and stood up.
"Well I think I should leave you to rest now..." he muttered. Jay's eyes widened and she quickly shook her head.
"No! I uh..." She blinked, turning red again "I mean, please stay..."
He smiled but hid it before sitting back into the chair and resting his head on the bed.
"As you wish." he said. She smiled, pulling the blanket around her and turning on her side so that she was facing him, studying his expressions. He grinned wider and grabbed one of her hands. She grinned and laced her fingers with his, closing her eyes and whispering quietly, not meaning to let him hear, "I love you..."
He smiled even wider and tapped his foot on the ground, rhythmically lulling him and Jay to sleep.

Silvano was woken to the sound of a high-pitched shriek. "What did the doctor tell you about coming in here?!?" a nurse screamed. Silvano woke up with a start and immediately stood up.
"I-I was just sleeping with her!" he protested, unfortunately in the wrong way. The nurse shrieked louder and grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and started dragging him out of the room.
"Lisa stop, it's ok." Jay's voice came from behind them as she looked up at them, "I asked him to stay, he's not going to get in the way or anything don't worry." The nurse looked back and dropped Silvano, causing him to hit his head on the floor and groan.
"Hmph well he should know that he wasn't allowed." she sassed. Jay chuckled.
"And don't you think that after all my times in here I'd learn to stop having to come?" She asked with a smirk. The nurse sighed and looked at Silvano who was still lying on the floor.
"Yes I suppose." she stayed silent for a few moments before another nurse came in and announced that her assistance was needed elsewhere, "Well I have to go help that boy in room B-48. We've almost gotten him to stop changing colors but it seems he's gone through every color of the rainbow in the past hour." she added before walking out of the room. Jay laughed, yelling at her "Say hi to Sage finally will ya!"
Silvano slowly got off of the ground and groaned quietly, holding his pounding head. "Charming lady that is...." he muttered before walking back over to Jay. Jay chuckled at him.
"Eh she's usually very strict on normal hospital protocol. Before she became a vampire she was a nurse at the nearby hospital, so she normally works with healing magic." He nodded and sat back down in the chair, a migraine slowly developing in the back of his head. Jay smiled at him and tried to sit up and cross her legs, her medicine having her forgot about the burns, before yelping and laying back down.
"Nope nope nope never mind..." She muttered, closing her eyes "Great and I need to get back around to doing some jobs soon..."
Silvano grabbed her hand and held it tightly. "Take it easy okay?" he said, holding the top of her hand by his mouth. "I don't want something to happen to you again so just try to go back to sleep." She sighed but smiled a bit.
"Okay. What are we going to do though?"
"What do you mean?"
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, mustering up her courage "I mean I want to stay with you, so what are we going to do once I heal?"
"I-I guess go for a job..." he said, his face light red, "Maybe go sightseeing."
She nodded, smiling softly "That sounds nice..." Silvano nodded and rested the side of his head on the bed. Jay squeezed his hand lightly, feeling that she'd finally found some solitude in her life since she had become a vampire.
