I smiled at my beautiful husband's sleeping figure. Life was good, hell I'd even go as far as to say that life was pretty perfect.
"Morning handsome" Wade said sleepily before opening his eyes.
"Morning to you too" I said leaning in the couple of inches between us to kiss him.

Yes life was perfect.

"How was your first night being married man?" He asked once he pulled away and flashed me his signature smirk.
"The sleep was good, the sex on the other hand was kinda disappointing." I teased.
"Gotta save the good sex for the honeymoon" he teased streachting. I reached over and played with his already mess dirty blonde hair.
"You know your books deadline is today right?" I reminded him causing him to groan.
"Shit I forgot."
"How many chapters do you have left?"
"Uhm the chapter that comes after the research." He muttered.
"Wade!" I scolded before playfully hitting him with with my pillow.
"Hey hey hey in my defence there was this marine biologist who insisted that we had to go to a beach for a week to watch sea turtles hatch."
I let out a playful sigh. "Very true but you could have said no and worked on your book."
"Nope, sorry, can't just let my man go to a beach alone, who knows who'd see you and think 'damn I gotta get myself some nerdy marine biologist ass.' " we looked at each other and broke out into laughter.
"Get dressed you goof" I said tossing another pillow at him before getting out of bed.
"Hey I work from home I don't need clothing to work."

I rolled my eyes and walked to our closet, grabbed a pair of grey jeans and a red shirt and slipped them on. I pulled on a black blazer then headed back to where Wade was still lounging in bed.
"I only have to work today then it's our honeymoon, ok?" I asked.
"Fine" he huffed. "But do I get a kiss before you leave?"
"Of course, why would that change?" I said smiling before leaning down and kissing him.
"Don't go." He muttered as I pulled away.
"I have to, it's the last day of mating season" I said before kissing him goodbye and headed off to work.

The work day went by quickly and before I knew it I was pulling up the drive way to our house. I got out of my car and headed up the steps to our home on the beach and unlocked it. I opened the door expecting to hear the clicking of keys on a key board but in stead I was only greeted by silence. "Wade?" I called out.

Nothing.

Cautiously I headed up the steps to our room looking for anything that would explain the silence. "Wade?" I called out before gently pushing open the bedroom door. I entered slowly until my eyes fell on Wade's figure laying on the floor. I rushed over and checked for a pulse and if he was breathing, I let out a sigh of relief when I conformed that he was alive, but that left the question, why was he laying on the floor?
"Wade?" I asked softly. I reached out to shake him but thought better about it in case he had a neck or spine injury. "Wade?" I asked again, panic filling my voice.

No response.

I grabbed my phone and sailed 911 trying to stay calm.

"911 what is your emergency?"
