Cane left, and it was too late for Blake and Zander to leave... so I asked Mom if they could stay the night. "As long as your door stays unlocked and at least half-way open," she said before hanging up. I laughed. What does she take me for? ... She must think I'm lonely without my older brother... it's not like she's wrong about me missing him. Zander was looking at pictures that were over the fireplace, "She said ye-" yet again, I didn't even finish my sentence.

"I know. She said yes. Being a Protector has its perks, like unbelievable hearing," Zander said. Let me guess you can also read minds. I glared at him. "Actually, yes, but I'm only allowed to do so with the person/people I'm protecting," Zander said. No privacy, huh? "Nope, none what so evere," he said while smiling mischievously. Alright.... then... Zander's stupid, Zander's stupid, Zander's stupid, Zander's s- He stared at me, "Really? Are you serious?" he asked. I laughed.

"Okay, let's go to m room," I said. Zander grinned, "O-Oh, well, take very good care of me... I'm new at this," he said, winking at me. "... Well... this escalated quickly," Blake said, laughing. I glared at both of them, "You know what? Just go home," I said, and began to walk away. "We were kidding!~" Blake whined. I stopped, and turned back around, "Why do you want to stay anyways?" Zander looked at me, "The real reason?" Nope! I definitely want you to lie to me! Of course the real reason!! "No need to be sarcastic, and it's because I'm worried about that Reaper I sensed. I can sense them still... but it's very faint," he said, following me into my room, along with Blake.

"I feel like something's supposed to happen tomorrow, but I forgot what it was," I said, after I had changed. "Maybe it wasn't that important," Blake said, half asleep. "How are you still tired?" I asked him. He just shrugged, and flopped down on the couch by my bed. I turned to Zavier, who was lying next to Blake, on the floor, "Where'd you wanna sleep?" I asked him. "I can sleep down here, it doesn't bother me," he said, staring up at the ceiling. "Oh. Okay," I said. Damn! It's freezing! "Why didn't you just say that?" Zavier asked me.

I froze, "I...uhh...not sure," I said. Maybe because that's just awkward. He chuckled, and stayed on the floor. I scooted to the wall, which was the farthest away from Zander. I slightly shivered, but then stopped. "Zander... can you turn the light off?" I asked him. "Sure," I saw him get up of the floor and flip the switch. In the light of the moon, I saw his shadowy figure come closer. I flipped over quickly, and huddled against the wall. The covers were lifted, "What the hell?!" I exclaimed. Zander slipped in, "You said you were cold, plus, I can see the window better," he said. "... whatever," I sighed, scooting farther away from him. I instantly fell asleep.

                                                                                ~

I woke up, and it was warm. I was in somebody's arms. My eyes shot open, and I saw Zander's face very close to mine. He was fast asleep. He looked... different. Maybe it's because his guard's down? Zander put his forehead against mine, "It wasn't that... I was actually sleeping," his eyes were open now. I heard my door creek open. Zander and I sat up. I rubbed my eyes, "Blake, when'd you wake up?" I asked. "Who's Blake, and who's the guy with yo... in. Your. Bed?" a familiar voice asked. I looked up at the doorframe. There stood a tall guy figure, with black-ish hair and light blue/grayish eyes.

I froze. What's he doing back home?!!!!!! "Mason?" I asked. "Who else? Now... all of you get dressed, and get in the living room. Now," he said, and walked out. I jumped out of bed, and ran to my closet. "Crap... I seriously forgot!" I mumbled to myself. "Who was that? He smelled like a Normal," Zander said, waking Blake up. "... My brother.... I forgot he was coming to visit today," I said. "Do you think you're in major trouble?" he asked. I shook my head, "That's the thing. I'm not entirely sure." It's true... I can never tell with that guy. We went downstairs, and MAson was sitting in the living room. "So... what's the story?" he asled, looking at the three of us.

"It got cold, and I said he can sleep in my bed," I said. Mason nodded, "Uhuh... as long as you didn't do anything, I guess it's fine." Zander blinked, "We didn't." Mason looked at Zander, "I didn't get your name," he said, standing up. "Yeah. The name's Zander Drake," Zander said. "Who's the blonde?" Mason asked. "My cousin, Blake Keegan," Zander said. Mason studied the two of them, "You two seem well enough to protect her if something happened," he said smirking. How funny. "Right..." I said, "Mason, how long are you staying?"

"Trying to get rid of me so soon? That's mean," Mason said, pouting at me. "That's not what I meant," I stated. "I know. I was kidding. I'm leaving today. The professor assigned us a project, so I need to head back soon. I decided to swing by to check on you," he said. I walked over to him, "Even if you tell Mom what happen, Zander's on her good side, " I said, "He's a dangerous person." Mason chuckled, and ruffled my already messed up hair, "Chill, Sis. I know nothing happened. You're a good kid, so you won't do anything stupid." Mason grinned at me. I love my brother, he knows me. Mason looked at the time, "Crap! I gotta go! It was nice meeting you... uhh... Zander, Blake, I'll see ya around," he said, and quickly headed out the door.

I stood by the window, and watched him wave at me from his car. I waved back, a smile on my face. He took of in his car quickly. "You brother seems pretty cool," Zander said behind me. "He doesn't seem cool. He is," I said.
