Elizabeth’s POV
Jason and I was sitting on a train, heading to someplace I didn’t know. According to Alvares, it’s somewhere safer than the mansion.
“Far more better” Alvares said. What did he mean by that?
“You mean she’s not a golden spirit?” Jason asked. I’m a golden spirit?
“Even greater than that, son” Alvares stared.
“Hold on guys, what are we talking about?” I said. Both Alvares and Jason stared into each other, almost like having a secret conversation in their minds. Maybe they did, because a second after that, Jason grabbed my hand and said, “Let’s get out of here”
“Wait Jason what is going on?” I said.
“I can’t tell you now.” He said, “We need to go to somewhere safer.” He keeps on walking.
The train moves l, creating a loud noise, but I was too busy thinking to notice. The train was dark red, with black leather seats. I sat beside the windows, allowing me to view the sky.
The sky was gloomy. It’s grey and cold. It could be raining any sooner. Just like it was describing my mood. I miss my family. Somehow I wished this is all was just another bad dream. But, I don’t want Jason to be a part of just a dream. I want him to be real.
“Hey” I heard a voice called. Of course, it was Jason’s. “How are you doing now?” He asked.
“I’m okay.” I said, “Can you explain now?” I asked, looking at him, hoping for an answer.
“I’m not sure” Jason’s face was serious. Even his tone was deep and scary. I remained silent. Not knowing if I was ready or not.
A minute after I kept quiet, I finally muster up the courage to beg him to tell me anyway. Jason hesitated to tell me, but he did.
“When you came in the mansion, you were told that you are a spirit.” He started explaining, “A while after that, Alvares met me, and he told me that you are not just any spirits, but you are a golden one. So that kinda makes you a little more special. And now that you have a tattoo sketched on your back, it’s a sign of something else.”
“Something else?” I asked.
“We’re not sure, but it is something greater, and rare. But the greater the power, the greater the challenge.” He explained.
“So where are we going now?” I asked.
“Dragon’s Lock” He told me.
“That doesn’t sound good”
“Believe me, it’s not”
Jason’s POV
Dragon’s Lock.. I thought to myself.. I don’t know what Elizabeth really is. And the face Alvares gave me, sure it wasn’t a good one. What’s ahead of us could be really dangerous. It might cause death.
The spirits are claiming her to be theirs. Alvares wants her to join his side. Charles wanted her too.
It's going to be my job to protect her. Going to the Dragon's Lock isn't my best choice, but it's the only choice I have. If we get there, and they didn't want to help, both of us will be their "decorations", or worse, their food. But if he wants to help, one of us will have to die. And that won't be Elizabeth, it will be me. Of course it is, after all, she's the one who has that dragon tattoo on her back.
Her head was resting against my chest, breathing softly. I like the way she purrs out when she exhale. It's cute, in a way.
Forget it Jason, there will never be you and her.
My thoughts was running around, and there was like little voices, convincing me to go to sleep. I yawned. I could use some sleep, after all this have been a long day..
--
The train stopped. I was awakened by all the screaming and gasping noises from the crowd in the train. My eyes searched for Elizabeth. Her eyes are still locked, she’s sure a heavy sleeper.
“Elizabeth, wake up” I shook her.
A few shook, and she’s finally awake.
“Why are these people look terrified?” She asked, stretching a little.
“I don’t know, but I think the train must be broken or something.” I said. Soon enough, a voice from a speaker was heard.
“Ladies and Gentleman, I’m sorry to say that the train is currently not working very well. We have to stop here to fix things up. You people can take another train to reach to your destination”
All the people let out groans and sighs, like it was the only train that they can get. We both waited until the path is a little clear, and we got up. I believe we were the only one left in the train.
Too bad, just when Elizabeth and I was about to walk out, the train doors closed. And the train moved, fast. So fast that Elizabeth and I was pushed behind. We settled on a seat, looking around, confused. I think the train must have flown up. Because I can see the train station from up here.
“Next destination, Dragon’s Lock”
