Ethan's POV:
She just won't see how much effort I'm trying to put into this. I keep trying to make this work, but she keeps pushing it away.
It's all because of that dude named Weston.
I don't know who he thinks he is, just leaving a girl broken hearted. Without an explanation.
I know that Heather still loves him, I'm not going to make her say it. I just want to know why.
Why would he leave somebody so wonderful who cares about him so much? Why would she still love somebody who did that to her?
Even though Heather says she doesn't want a relationship, I'm still going to try and get us to be in one. Not by getting on my knees and begging, but being nice and dropping hints should do.
I picked up my phone and dialed Heathers number.
"Hey Ethan," she answered as usual.
"Hey there, fam."
"Why did you call?"
"Do you want to hang out tomorrow since it's Saturday?"
"Uhm," there was a moment of silence. "I mean I guess."
"Cool. What do you want to do?"
"Whatever you want to do I guess." She seemed bored.
"Alright, I will pick you up and I guess it will be a surprise."
"Sweet."
"See you then." I hung up without giving her a chance to say anything.
She never seems interested anymore. Sometimes, I don't think I am either.
Tomorrow, I'm going to change that. I really hope I can change things back to the way they used to be.
Heather's POV:
I woke up at around 11:00 am. Man, I need to stop staying up until the early morning watching Markiplier videos.
I stood up, stretched out, and slumped down the steps. My mom and dad were cuddling on the couch watching Jeff Dunham without me.
I was out of it, so I didn't really care. Without saying anything, I stumbled into the kitchen like a zombie. I couldn't find anything I wanted to eat besides ramen noodles, even though that's not a breakfast food.
Then again, it's not breakfast. I slept in today. So I can eat what I want.
Just when I got the water boiling on the stove, I heard the front door open. "I'M HOME!" a voice called out.
I dumped my noodles into the pan to see Ethan standing in the doorway, slamming the door shut behind him.
"Come in?" my dad chuckled.
"Sorry fam, this is my second house so why knock?"
"Ethan! I totally forgot we made plans! I'm sorry!" I babbled.
"It's fine, I can wait in the kitchen while you get ready. Plus, I don't want to be seen with you in public while you look like that!" He laughed while eyeing me up and down.
"Shut up!" I laughed. We walked into the kitchen together and I turned to the boiling pot of noodles on the stove. "Can you finish making this while I go and get ready?"
"I mean I guess," he chuckled.
"Great!" I chimed. I ran upstairs and into my room. Besides that, I wasn't in a hurry to get ready. Ethan can stay as long as he wants, he's always welcome here.
I didn't really want to try too hard, so I just combed my hair into a messy bun with my fingers. I then ran into my closet and grabbed my red leather jacket, a pair of ripped jeans with black leggings sewed into them, and my black t shirt with the words, "I love you too the moon and back ☆" on them. I pretty much hopped into them after taking off my pajamas.
I stuck in my fake diamond studs and ran back down the stairs. Ethan set the pan of noodles on the kitchen table for me. I grabbed the warm handle and gently poured my soup into a cup we got from Reno when my dad was in the hospital.
"Let's hit it," I said as I slipped on my turquoise Vans.
We both climbed into Ethan's truck, and he claimed he wasn't going to tell me where we were going until we got there. Oh well, at least I can enjoy my soup on the way there.
