Ethan's POV:

It's about 7:00 pm now. For some reason, I'm already starting to get tired. It's probably because I've done nothing but eat and watch TV for the past few hours. That's time I'm never going to get back... oh well.

Without warning, my bedroom door swung open. My mom was standing there with a big smile plastered across her face. "Ethan, honey?"

"Yes, mother?" I groaned.

"You have a visitor!" She backed out of the doorway as I saw Heathers body emerge from the hallway. She was wearing one of the dresses I bought her way back when, and she looked really good in it.

"Heather?" I asked, surprised. "What're you doing here?"

"I came to talk to you," she smiled. Even though she was smiling, I didn't see happiness in her eyes.

"I'll leave you two alone," my mom whispered as she started back down the steps.

Heather walked inside and sat on the edge of my bed. She stared at me as I started brushing Cheeto crumbs off of myself. I sat up and scooted myself to the left side of the bed a little more.

"You can sit up here," I chuckled.

"Okay," she sighed. She kicked off her Nike shoes I bought her and took off this brown handbag she had slinged over her shoulder. She then scooted up to me and sat on top of the covers. She leaned against the headboard and stared and the wall.

"So..." I chuckled.

"Soooo..." she sighed.

"What did you come here for?" I didn't want to sound rude, in fact I didn't mind. I just want to know why.

"I need to tell you something," she started. "I hope this isn't too hard for you to handle."

Well, I'm scared now. "Oh?"

"Yeah, uh well my college interview went well."

"That's great news! Why would you think it'd be too hard for me to handle?"

"Because it went so well that there's a late course that only lasts a few months that Professor Thompson wants me to attend, which means if I want full credit then I'd have to leave very soon."

My heart skipped about 21 beats. "Well, you aren't going to go are you?"

She paused for a minute and looked me in the eyes. "I mean, I already have enough credits to graduate, and I don't really have any reason to stay besides you and my mom so why not? Plus, we called my aunt and she said she's all ready for me to move in."

Well, this is unexpected. I don't know what to say, so I just turn my attention back to the TV.

"Ethan?" She nudged me. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," I breathed out. "I just didn't think they'd want you to leave so soon. When are you leaving?"

"Monday..." she sighed whilst turning back to the wall. "I have to go to school to talk to the teachers and principal, but after that I'm going to become a college girl. Plus, I have enough money to go after my dad died and we didn't pay for his treatment."

"I see," I sighed. I didn't expect her to leave so soon, and I'm not leaving this place for a few months. Plus, my destination is not where I want to be. I can tell that I'm not going to be happy in the future.

"Well," she sighed. "Unless you visit tomorrow, this might be the last time I get to see you for quite a while."

Just her saying that broke my heart. I really don't want her to leave, but if that's what she wants to do I guess I'll let her.
