Aris's anxiety was practically tangible as her striking blue eyes stared deeply at her reflection, or more specifically- at her hair. She gazed at the platinum blonde that gradually transitioned into a deep blue, praising Azile's talent of anything cosmetic-related. Aris stared in awe at her gradient styled hair yet her heart pounded frantically in her chest, she was afraid of what others would think, she was afraid of being judged.

"Aris, you look beautiful as always, now grab your shit, I need to finish up some homework before first period starts" Azile's voice resonated from behind the blonde just before she felt Azile's presence brush past her and heard the sound of the front door opening.

'Easy for you to say Zi, you're not the one who gets bullied'

Aria wanted to tell her friend the truth as to why she was so insecure, but couldn't, and with one final once-over in the full body length mirror, Aris grabbed her bag from the rack and rushed after her friend.

The car ride was silent, however it wasn't awkward, just peaceful. No words were exchanged as the girls drove past the giant banner that displayed their school's name and pulled into the school's parking lot.

Aris felt her stomach drop at the sight of the school's entrance.

She could feel that today was going to take a turn for the worst.

The two girls say at their lunch table silently, they only share lunch, 5th, and 6th period together, lunch having to be 4th period, so the majority of the morning the girls were separated.

"Aris, c'mon b, talk to me, you're usually going on about Black Booty or something like that" Azile joked with a light smile as she playfully poked at her friend's side.

Aris stayed silent, however, and continued to slowly munch on her PB and J. She glanced up at Azile depressingly before her eyes wandered back down to her tray.

"Aye, Aris, did something happen earlier? Did I do something?" Azile pressed, leaning forward to examine her friend, but Aris only shook her head No and continued eating.

"Then tell me! You can't just ignore me, Aris, tell me what's wrong!" Azile scolded, her cheeks flushed red out of aggravation and Aris looked at her solemnly with her big blue eyes, tears swelling up inside before she swallowed her food and began to rub her eyes. But Azile didn't feel sorry, if there was something bothering Aris, Azile would find out no matter the cost.

"We promised no secrets, tell me, Aris, please"

I light huff of air was let out from the blonde, who was trying desperately not to sob.

"I-I heard some girl t-talking a-bout me, s-she said I d-dyed my h-hair for a-attention a-and I was a d-dumb hoe!" Aris whined, tears falling from her eyes and Azile looked at her offended.

She was genuinely offended for her best friend.

Without hesitation Azile stood up from her seat and grabbed her bag, she thrusters her tray into the open trash can before grabbing Aris's hand and pulling the girl to her feet.

"Let's go home, we can watch Black Butler or The Devil is a Partier or DBG- am I getting these names right?"

"Part-Timer and DBZ, but you're getting better" Aris corrected, a light smile on her face as she wiped away her tears and nodded her head in approval.

"That's enough school for one day, let's go"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Azile gripped the wheel angrily, Aris had fallen a sleep in the passenger's seat after a few minutes and allowed Azile the time to reflect on her best friend's words. It seemed impossible to Azile that anyone could dislike Aris, a girl who came up with corny jokes and a sweet personality, yet it happened.
As much as Azile wanted to turn the car around, find the person, and beat her ass, she couldn't. Aris didn't need that stress, she need to forget the situation, and that's exactly what they're gonna do, together- because if Azile doesn't forget, then a hoe is gonna get cut.
Azile gave a quick sideways glance toward her best friend, smirking as she wanted so badly to stomp the brakes and let her friend fly for not putting on her seat belt. When her eyes went back to the road, all hell broke loose.
"Shit!!"
She instantly took in the all white figure that stood directly in front of the car and out of instinct turned the wheel right, where the car then collided with the street's bridge rails. The impact was hard enough that the car knocked down the rail and the car went off the bridge.
Aris had woken up to Azile's swearing and was fully alert by the time the car drove off the bridge. Both girls let out terrified screams as the car hit the water, slowly submerging, their seat belts locked into place as water rushed in through the open windows.
"Somebody help!!!"
"Please!! Somebody help!-"
Their screams were cut off as the water rose past their mouths and the car completely submerged into the water.
They could feel the car going lower and lower as they fidgeted with the belt buckle.
Azile nearly let out all her air when she felt the button give in and the belt slide off.
Immediately shook looked towards her friend, only to see Aris weakly pulling at the seat belt no longer having the energy. Azile pressed deeply into the button, her fingers turning white before it gave in as well and Aris was free.
Azile pushed Aris out of the open window and  went to follow but the car only pulled her with it, it's weight keeping her wedged between the window. Aris grabbed at Azile's hand and pulled as Azile kicked her feet against the seat she managed to push herself out. She could see the light of day above the waters and kicked further, Azile saw bubbles float past her and instantly grabbed as Aris's hand, who was suffocating as she attempted to keep the water out of her lungs.
The water weighed down the two, their muscles sour as the kicked and pushed through the water, Aris becoming weaker as she came closer to the light, she shot her eyes as the last puff of air left her lungs and she feel unconscious. Azile penetrated the surface of the lake and pulled her friend up with her. Her hand gripped the dry grass that rested in front of her as she lifted the their bodies up and pulled them to safety.
"Aris? Aris?!"
Azile began to do compressions on her friend's chest, after the tenth compression Aris gasped for breath, yet she remained unconscious.
Azile struggled to her feet, her heels jabbing into the the dirt and, and she wobbled slightly as she tries to regain balance.
"Madam, are you well?" An accented voice asked from in front of her and her head snapped forward to see a man, he was dressed in a plain black and white suit, his short black hair favoring towards one side more than the other, yet his eyes are what caught her attention. They were Scarlett, inhumane, yet she didn't care as she collapsed to her knees.
Her breathing labored and she stared at the man with questioning eyes as she felt a strong sense of deja vu.
But why?
