You can not make someone fall in love with you, whatever you do, it is not possible. You just have to let it run its course even if you really want them to love you back. This new information that he had stated in the meeting made everything so complicated. All Camden wanted was for Nikolai to just stay out of her life forever, but with looking at how Mickey had grown attached to his father, she knew that it would not be possible. They had just left the meeting, the lawyers had come to a conclusion that if it is possible that Nikolai could reconcile his relationship with her. Oh how she wished she could just turn back the pages, to go back to the beginning, before the heartache and the pain. But she knew she could not, she just had to let it run its course. If Nikolai thinks that winning back her heart will be easy, then he has lost his mind, she will not fall that easily, or she hopes she won't fall that easily. Nikolai had been staring at her when he said it, making her insides turn into mush, she just hoped that her face didn't show how she really felt. She denies that he doesn't affect her like before, but in reality, he affects her more than she would like.
"Ms. Beverly, are the terms alright with you?"
Camden looked at her son who had started playing with Nikolai's suit jacket. She knew that Mickey will not want to separate from his father and she couldn't keep him away from him either. She sighs and nods.
"Yes if that is what Mr. Gabrielli, I will not deny him that. All I am to say is that he better know that it won't be easy. He will have to work hard."
Nikolai had a determined look on his face, he gave her a smirk she knew all too well.
"And I will Camden, you just wait and see. Now that the terms are on the table, I would like to see Michelangelo once during the week and I would like him to spend every other weekend with me, Camden you are welcome to stay with us as well on those weekends if you feel comfortable that is."
Camden could not believe he had been that bold.
"I agree on those terms but only if your mother is nowhere near my son. Do we have an agreement?"
Nikolai agreed with her, he did not want his mother anywhere near his son either. He did not want her to manipulate him. He still needed to get to the bottom of what had happened to his relationship with his wife.
"That is alright with me, can he spend some time with me today? I would like to take him to get ice cream, that is if you permit of course. You are welcome to tag along as well Camden."
He really did want to spend some time with his son but he also wanted to spend as much time with her as well, it kills two birds with one stone as the saying goes. Camden knew he asked this so he could use his charm to win her back, he knew how much ice cream had been her guilty pleasure. She did give him that one, she sent him a knowing look which he returned with a sly smirk.
"Only if you are paying."
He smiles, a genuine one, one that Camden had not seen in awhile.
"Of course, I will pay, I invite, I pay. Now if that is all, I would like to take my son and my wif.. I mean my son's mother out for a family outing."
When Mickey heard ice cream he clapped his hands.
"Yay! Gelato!! Ice cweam! Mommy let's go!"
He jumped out of his father's lap and started dancing to music in his head, making Camden smile. The lawyers all agreed with the terms and both Nikolai and Camden signed the paper.
"Camden are you sure about this? Are you willing to reconcile the relationship you had with Niko?"
Camden looks at her ex-father-in-law with adoration.
