Dear Walkers,

To the right is an amazing cover done by MallyxAndra. Go check out her thread called "Sunshine Graphics". She's pretty awesome with this stuff. Anyways, if you have a cover you'd like to make me, inbox me it and if I like it, I'll dedicate a chapter to you and use it as the cover or as side art.

Happy Zombie Reading!

Micky

My eyes snap open as I hear a loud pounding, hinges rattling loudly. My gaze snaps to the bedroom door.

"Rick!" I shout, running up to the door and placing my ear against it. I expect to hear the familiar and terrorizing groans of an infected, but hear none in the hallway, and yet the noise continues. "Merle!" I scream, terrified. Where is the walker trying to get in?

I sprint to the window on the far wall, pushing the lace curtains aside eagerly. My eyes only meet Merle's large driveway, a few walkers staring intently at their torn up shoes, scuffling around slowly. I run my hand through my matted brown hair. My eyebrows knit together as I look to the wardrobe beside me, the door rattling violently.

A large brown pole is run through the handles, on the verge of snapping in two. I stumble backwards, struggling to stay upright. Behind me, Merle crashes in through the bedroom door, just when the pole on the wardrobe gives out, and the door of the wardrobe swings open, violently knocking me off of my feet.

I scream in horror as a woman flings herself on top of my helpless body, her teeth clashing together in hunger. I fight to keep her jaws and blood crusted fingernails from making contact with my flesh. She growls, inches away from my face, and sends a horrid waft of rotting meat in my nose as she's jerked away.

I shout in surprise as the walker throws all of her weight onto my ankle, send alarming pain shooting up my leg. Merle clenches his teeth, throwing the struggling infected to the floor at his feet. A deafening gun shot fills my ears and I look to see the woman with dark red blood seeping from the bullet hole in her forehead.

Merle's face screws up and he drops the pistol, falling to his knees beside the dead walker. I lean up, hissing as I pull my knees to my chest in pain.

Merle breaks out in tears, lifting the head of the zombie, sobbing loudly. Teardrops fall on the rotting corpse's face, and Merle shouts swear words to no one in particular. The next words he mutters are incoherent as he cries.

"What was that?" I ask in utter terror. Merle looks at me with bright red eyes.

"That," He says loudly, pulling the woman to him. "Was my wife!" He yells at me, caressing his wife's face.

"You kept your zombie wife in a wardrobe?" I ask him in horror. He lets out another loud sob and looks at me in anger.

"I love her so much." He cries quietly, brushing her tangled, blond hair out of her open eyes. He shuts her eyelids and kisses her blood-covered forehead. I shake my head in disbelief and wince as I pull myself off of the blood stained floor. I wobble on my healthy ankle and take uneasy steps, snatching my jacket from Merle who is using the sleeve to wipe up the walker's blood. Merle moans and lays down, hugging his wife in sadness.

I still try to register the attack in my mind, it went so quickly. All of the fighting wore my arms out and my shoes leave bloody foot prints as I shuffle down the hall, nearly running into Rick who runs out of his room, holding a large shot gun.
