~~ THE COURTHOUSE: TWO MONTHS LATER ~~
LOTTIE P.O.V
"Kellin, calm down. It'll all be fine." I said, straightening his tie.
"I can't calm down and everything will not be fine." He retorted, pushing me off.
"Kellin, get you're ass back here now!" I yelled out as he walked down the hall. He turned and gave me a hard stare.
"What if everything isn't OK Lottie? Hmm, what's gunn happen then? In about fifteen minutes, I will find out if I still have custody of my daughter. Do you know how terrifying that is? I may never see her again!" He threw his hands up in frustration.
"Stop it! How easy has it been these past two months? Kate and you have been working together, giving Copland to you on weekends? What judge would stop that? Stop your worrying and whining, get in that courtroom and get divorced." I stamped my foot and pointed toward the massive mahogany doors leading into the courtroom.
Kellin looked down at the ground, like a little boy in a lot of trouble. "You still love me right?"
I sighed and pulled his head down into my neck and kissed his head. "Of course. C'mon, I'll be right behind you."
---------------------------------
Kellin was shitting it. I could see it, I could feel it, I could taste it in the air. I could see him shaking a little. Katelynne was just sitting at her bench, cool, calm and collected. The judge was shuffling his papers and he had already addressed the courtroom.
"To start off with, we're going to divide up the custody in reguard to Copeland Quinn. Now, Copeland is the only child of this marriage and she is one and a half, correct?" The judge asked. The judge had a bald egg shaped and coffee stains on the white material on the collar of his black garb.
Katelynne and Kellin nodded.
"From what I can see on these custody forms and your affirdavits, you are both caring and loving parents. This is a very odd situation seeing as Mr Quinn is never really home. I see that you have been very amicable with the arrangements of care for the child. I have granted Mr Quinn to have Copelnd for two weeks between tours and whenever he has a spare day. Mrs Quinn, you will have her for the rest of the time, understood? This will start on October 21st, which is exactly one month away."
Kellin and my sighs of relief were audible and Katelynne was scowling.
"Now, for the money arrangement. Since there was no pre-nup, Mrs Quinn, you will not get a share of Mr Quinn's money. You will get $230 child support once a fortnight. This will also start on October 21st."
Katelynne made a disgusted noise at the back of her throat while Kellin stood there motionless.
"Now time for the nitty gritty. I have to say that it os a shame that you two have parted and couldn't salvage your marriage for the sake og your child. Anyway, by the power vested in me and the state of Florida, you are now divorced. I am very sorry that this has happened to you both."
The judge adjourned the court and the burly bailiff told us to rise. Kellin turned to me and gave me a thumbs up and a nervous smile. I returned it and he turned around, approaching the bench.
I felt a tap at my shoulder. "I knew it was you." It was Katelynne.
"Pardon?" I squeaked out, shocked she even approached me.
"I knew that it was you Kellin was with, from the first day we met. Remember? When you came around and Kellin said you were his vocal coach? I knew since then, well, not known, more like guessed. More or less, I had suspicions." She explained calmly.
