Hinata walked into the gym for practice. He was running a little late cause his class wasn't dismissed until a few minutes after the bell.
Kageyama yelled Hinata's name oddly joyfully. Hinata jolted slightly in surprise and then waved to Kageyama.
He did his stretches then joined the team on the court. "Hey Kageyama give me a toss?"
Kageyama nodded and set up. He gave a perfect toss to Hinata, who found a good spot and hit it there.
"Yes!" Hinata looked down at his hand, smiling. "That feeling never gets old."
Kageyama smiled slightly, looking at the way Hinata was overjoyed over something so little.
Wait, no. It's cause the toss was successful. Kageyama looked away so Hinata couldn't see his slight blush
"Oi Kageyama! Let's do another!" He giggled and got into position, Kageyama nodding in response.
They did the quick again and Hinata was once again overjoyed.
But seriously Hinata is very adorable when he reacts like that. "GODdam-" Kageyama slapped his cheeks lightly and sighed, frustrated.
Hinata looked at him and then laughed at him. "Kageyama what are you doing?" he said while laughing.
"Eh- SHUT UP! I'm not doing anything go away." Hinata laughed harder. "You're being so weird Kageyama."
Kageyama just glared at Hinata and he instantly shut up. Kageyama mumbled to himself as he walked to his bag to get a drink.
Everyone came together to decide teams for their scrimmage they were about to do.
It was 3v3: Kageyama, Hinata, and Tanaka against Sugawara, Daichi, and Asahi
They all got into their positions and began playing. About half way through the game while he was tossing to Hinata, Kageyama noticed how focused Hinata was, and how attractive Hinata's determination. He snapped out of it and projected the volleyball towards Hinata, the toss only slightly off from his distraction.
After the scrimmage ended, the score tied, they went to the club room and changed.
~Kageyama's pov~
Everyone was walking ahead of me towards the club room. I was walking slower than them because I couldn't stop thinking about Hinata.
Why am I noticing how attractive he is? Why am I paying attention to every little detail about him?
"KAGEYAMAAAAAAAAA!" something slammed into my back, startling me. I turned to see Hinata coming to walk next to me
"What the hell, baka. That could've hurt." I mumbled. He just smiled and laughed, and oh god how captivating it was.
"Oh hush you're fine. Anyways why are you all the way back here." I sighed and looked forward again.
"I have my reasons- and I could ask you the same; what took you so long to catch up?"
Hinata blushed, in embarrassment or for some other reasons, I didn't know. He puffed his cheeks out and mumbled, "I was putting my stuff away in my bag and my hair got stuck in the zipper."
I smiled and started laughing. "HAHAHA! Hinata you idiot how did you even manage to get your hair that close to the zipper!"
"Sh-Shut up I don't even know!" He punched my arm playfully.
"Ha. Ok." We entered the club room and started changing. As we finished up and were about to leave the room, somebody quielty called my name.
I turned and looked around the room, seeing Sugawara waving for me to go to him.
I told Hinata to wait for me by the door and walked over. "What's up Suga-san?"
He smiled gently before he said, "You seemed a little distracted on the court today is everything alright?"
"Y-Yeah. Just fine," I replied, face slightly flustered. I didn't think my being distracted was noticeable, but then again it's Suga-san.
"Haha. Ok. And I don't just mean issues that are necessarily bad." He gave me a wink.
I blushed as I grabbed my bag and got up. "It's nothing Suga see you tomorrow." I sped of to the door and walked out with Hinata.
As we were walking I looked down at him and smiled at the way he was slightly skipping and smiling so big.
"Oi Hinata."
"Yes Kageyama?" He looked up at me.
"N-Nevermind. Just wanted to say I enjoyed practice today," I mumbled.
Wow this is a pathetic attempt to make conversation.
"Yeah. Me too." He giggled and kept skip walking. I sighed.
Well at least I tried
"Hey Kageyama. Why were you so distracted today?" Hinata asked.
I grunted slightly. I didn't think he noticed. What do I tell him?? "U-Um well. I was tired. I did a lot of work in class today..."
"Ooooooh, that explains it." He pat my back gently and added, "you better rest up good tonight and don't work as hard in class cause we need you focused."
"Tch. If I don't work hard in class then I'll end up like you, baka." I smirked as he kept saying things like, "you meanie!" and "shut up!" while punching my arm repeatedly.
As we neared the place where we split up, Hinata jumped in front of me and wrapped his arms around me.
"H-Hey what are you doing?! G-Get off," I said with a blush. What is this idiot thinking.
"Kageyama you need to relax and stop stressing cause then it makes the whole team stress because we need you. So calm down."
My eyes opened a little in surprise. "Yeah yeah, just get off of me," I mumbled.
He let go and walked next to me again. Part of me wanted to keep him there, hugging me, but the other part knew I couldn't let that happen.
We came to the split in our route. We exchanged goodbye and began walking our own ways.
I was left with a soft smile on my face as I began thinking again.
