The gloomy skies seemed different today, seemed darker than usual. The kingdom seemed quiet, not my normal buzzing happy subjects out and about, tending to their everyday chores. No movement, no nothing, it was odd. I don't like this. My eyes scanned the horizon from my place on my balcony. I turned around, my long dress flowing beside me as I walked past the double doors that opened up into my bedroom. I closed the doors, keeping the warm breeze outside. My eyes stayed glued to my hands as my door opened.
"Princess, he has returned." Eve called from the doorway, a worried look capturing her soft features. I slowly lifted my head to look directly at her, a smirk making its way across my lips.
"Finally" I whispered. "Is that all Eve?" I asked, turning away from the older woman.
"Yes, Princess." She said before dismissing herself and closing my door.
Ben Solo has finally decided to show up to the place he once called home. I blinked once, remembering all the memories we have made here. I closed my eyes, taking me back to how things use to be.
I ran through the garden chasing after the brown haired boy. His giggles were enough to bring a smile to my face as he collapsed behind a tree.
'Alright, alright. I give up' he said laughing. A wide smile spread across my face.
'Ha I win. Now give me my tiara back.' I huffed, placing my hands on my hips. He sighed handing it over and my smile returned, placing it on my head as I sat down beside him.
'I'm gonna miss this when they send me off...' Ben whispered, looking down at his hands playing with them nervously. A habit I had realized he took when he was upset.
'Why do you always have to ruin the moment?' I asked, rolling my eyes and leaning up against the tree beside him.
His head snapped over to look at me, 'I do not always ruin the moment' he said defensively a scowl coming across his face.
I sighed, crossing my arms across my chest. 'Do too.' He looked away from me and gazed at the sunset playing in the sky. The orange, yellow and pink colors blending together to paint the sky up ahead.
'I just don't want to leave. What if I don't come back?' He asked still looking up at the sky. I sat up and shook my head looking over at him, 'Of course you'll come back. Promise me.' I said, raising my small pinky into the air. He looked away from the sky at my finger, smiling and hooking his rather big finger with mine.
'I promise' he whispered.
I opened my eyes, bringing myself back to reality. That was 8 years ago, he would be 21 now. Ben left the next day and he never came back just like he had feared. Now he is Kylo Ren, Master of the knights of Ren. This would be the first time I've seen him in years, I don't know if I should be scared, nervous or excited. In all honesty I think I'm a little bit of both, he was my best friend, partner in crime and I had a huge crush on him too. I always had a feeling things were different between us but I was never sure because he left so soon.
I heard rumbling in the far distance, knowing fully well who was arriving on my planet. I walked to my bathroom, gazing into the mirror. Would this be the (Y/N) He was expecting? I ran my fingers through my long blonde hair, my blue eyes searching for anything that could be so different about me. I took a deep breath, fixing my crown in the mirror and walking out of my room. My dress dragged behind me and I held the front in my hands, picking it off the floor. I walked down the steps and the front doors of the palace swung open.
A dark figure stood in front of a few men in white suits with guns. I stood a good 50 feet from Kylo but directly in front of him. My hands clasped in front of me.
"Welcome home" I said, a smirk forming on my face.
