"Hanging Out"

I pushed up my glasses. I'm alone. Today of all days, I'm alone. The wind swept through my hair, making me colder. Is it possible to freeze out here right now?

"Hey you cold?" Nathan asked from beside me. He had a fluffy blue blanket with him. That cute, lucky butthole.

"What does it look like dumbie?" I asked. I was shivering! I stupidly forgot that Ella and Ally had to go to a stupid family reunion and Selene had a ballet concert. That means I didn't have anyone to bring me blankets for the games. Hey, not my fault they agreed to give me blankets when we went to the games if I did their chemistry homework.

"Come here." He gestured me to go closer to him. I moved a little by little, unsure if I was supposed to. "C'mon, I don't bite." I rolled my eyes and finally gave in and moved close to his wheelchair. He wrapped part of the blanket around me. I instantly was sure my face was as red as a strawberry. The warmth of the blanket felt welcoming.

I pushed his wheelchair for him.

"What do you do when you're bored?" I asked.

"I just do random stuff. One time I actually felt like doing parkour." He chuckled. I laughed at the thought of him running and jumping on blocks or bricks. Hilarious. "What about you?"

"Don't freak out or be shocked then, okay?" He nodded. "When I'm bored, I sometimes play football with my sister and her boyfriend." His face. His face was shell shocked.

"Are you serious?" I nodded.

"Yeah, we play in the backyard, where no one can see us."

"I'm quite surprised." I playfully wacked his shoulder.

"I said not to be shocked!"

"I said I was surprised."

"Surprised and shocked are basically the same thing."

"But they aren't Ms. Osborne."

"Mr. McCort, I'd gladly like to disagree."

"Bye Nathan!" I yelled. He smiled at me.

"Bye, walk home safely!" I walked up to a stop sign. Then I called Katrina.

"How'd your date go?" I groaned.

"Kat, it wasn't a date."

"Mmhmm. Where are you right now?"

"Pick me up at Teresa Avenue, 1800."

"Okay." I ended the call and put my phone back in my pocket. I looked endlessly at the road in front of me, waiting for my sister's Range Rover to show up. It finally came and I hopped in.

"It was a date. I'm sure." I groaned again. And that's how we began our fight. And somehow, we ended the fight with which celeb was cuter.

"He did that?" Selene asked, probably shocked by her brother. "Oh, my god, love is in the spring air!"

"Guys really, it's nothing. Remember when he said he doesn't date girls?" That part broke my heart. I don't date. Those were the only words stuck in my head. They stayed there, waiting to be erased. I shook my head, trying to get rid of them.

"Anyway, let's get to class. I don't want to be late!" Ally shouted from down the hall. Damn this girl doesn't give a rest about running down the halls, without us. We walked down the hall, turning left and then parted ways. I opened my classroom door, not surprised to see only 2 people in there. I took my seat, laying out my pencils and homework. When the bell rang, students flooded the classroom, pouring into their seats. I sighed when I saw Tessa and her group of Barbies. Meet the gossipers. Not Queen Bs but gossipers. Huh.

She sat down, her Barbies scattered everywhere in the classroom, waiting for someone to say something interesting. I kept my mouth shut at all times. Now Britney, the school's "Queen", likes to make rumors about her. She was chatting with her friends, one of them being a gossiper. I couldn't help but eavesdropped.

"It was awesome, I can't believe I'm the only who Nathan likes. He came over to my place. It's so amazing though. Who knew I was that pretty?" Britney exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and butted in.

"Yeah, pretty ugly with that much make up on your non existent face." The gossiper gasped.

"She wears make up?!" The gossiper, Lina, asked in shock.

"Um, it's pretty obvious. Her skin color isn't even peachy. It's just make up." Seriously though, it's pretty obvious.

"Totes going in the newspaper article!" Lina squealed as she wrote down notes. I sat back in my seat and took out my homework.

"You'll regret this!" Britney yelled as she stormed off, leaving me a crying and bleeding mess on the bathroom floor. My arm held my waist as I limped over to the bathroom. I looked at myself through the mirror. The same old pathetic girl on the streets, alone. I erased that memory and cleaned off the blood coming from my arm. I hissed at the shocking pain I felt.

As soon as the blood was gone, I put on a bandaid and walked out the restroom. Good thing I accidentally mixed up my mascara with waterproof mascara. I stepped inside the cafeteria and got lunch. My eyes landed on something I did not want to see. Today went from good to bad. Now it's to worse.
