"Michelle!" I spun around, seeing Nathan breathing hard.
"Yes Nathan?" I hesitantly asked. Nathan and I have grown our friendship, almost forgetting the kiss.
"The bonfire tonight. I was wondering, if you wanted to, go with me?" He said, well questioned. I blushed a scarlet red.
"Umm, sure! Why not?"
"Really? Cool! So, I'll pick you up at your house?" I nodded.
"See ya!"

I put on my contacts. Okay, so, American Flag tank top? Check! Jean shorts? Check! Brown sandals? Check! I grabbed my flannel. I put my phone in my phone case with the handle. Then I walked out the door. I sat down on the grass and waited. Headlights showed on the road from Nathan's house. The Range Rover drove up to my yard. Nathan hopped out of the car and I stood up."Hi!" I greeted.
"Wow..." He trailed off. His eyes scanned my outfit and I blushed. "You look great.."
"Thanks, soooooo are we going?"
"Yeah, let's go."

I jumped out the car and ran to the ocean. I stopped right before the wet sand and stared out."Do you like the ocean?" I jumped and almost fell over. I shut my eyes, not wanting to see how this ends. Someone caught me by my waist.
"I'll give you 3 guesses Michelle."
"Parker?" I asked. I recognized his voice.
"Man, I suck at this game!" I opened my eyes and Parker pulled me up.
"Yes you do." I said.
I walked over to the big bonfire as I watched the flames fly. I grabbed a snack and a drink from the stand. When I turned around and looked up, I regretted looking. Nathan. Brittany. Hugging. Dancing. Flirting. I saw Brittany look at me and smirked. I looked down and bit my trembling bottom lip. I sat on a log, close to the fire. I finished my drink and snack and threw the trash away. Everyone was dancing, except the staff, a few so called bookworms, and me. I watched as Nathan danced with Brittany, smiling at something she said. Her hand rubbed his arm. My eyes lit up. I swear I saw Nathan's eyes flicker on me.
I tore my eyes off the scene. I took off my shoes and put them in the shoe box the teachers had. My body trembled as I stood up from the log and walked to the ocean. I looked out into the ocean as people swam. The sunset seemed as if the sun was taking a dip in the ocean. I walked slowly, edging closer to the water. I still had my clothes on. I heard a splash and my eyes flashed as Brittany and Nathan jumped in the water to play. My hands curled into fists as I continued staring at them, then at the sun. I walked deeper into the water.
Soon, I was knee deep. My shorts were a little went from the mini waves that were caused by my legs pulling into the water. The most ugliest baby I've ever seen in my life. She doesn't deserve to live. Tears streamed down my face. I took a couple of steps. Neck deep. I looked around, watching Nathan and his maybe new girlfriend play in the water. I took another step. Nose deep. Then I went under. She doesn't deserve to live. She doesn't deserve to live. I sunk down deeper and deeper. Before my eyes closed, I felt someone grab my wrist. Bye....world.....
*****
Beep, beep, beep, beep. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't. Where am I? Is this heaven? Am I finally dead? I used all my will power to move my hand but I couldn't. I mentally sighed and just waited. I'm in the hospital, aren't I? I heard the door shut."My baby girl..." My mother's voice rang. I gulped as I heard the sadness evident in her voice. Her footsteps sounds came closer and closer. Her hand went under mine, and her other one over mine. "Michelle, please don't scare mom away again." I wanted to hug her and say sorry for the bullshit I caused but I couldn't.
"Mom? Can I talk to her now?" Kat. Mom's feet shuffled away as the sound of the door closed. "Sis, please wake up. Mom is already in enough depression. Dad's pilot called. He died Michelle. Died. We can't lose another family member. If anything, please wake up so I don't see mom like this." The door opened again and then closed. Someone sat on a chair I'm guessing next to my hospital bed.
"I'm sorry, Michelle....I'm so sorry...." Him, it's him. His hand concealed mine like mom did. "I'm guessing I caused this, didn't I? I'm so stupid Michelle, you know that?" I wanted to yell at him and tell him he wasn't. "I tried to run away from you. I wanted to escape from you. It didn't work out right, you almost drowned. Almost, just when I saw you dunk your whole body into the ocean. I knew something horrible would happen." I felt something wet on my hand, and another, and another until there was a waterfall pouring on it. That's when reality hit me like a truck. Nathan was crying, because of me. "Well, visiting times are over. Sleep well, Cupcake..." He trailed off. The door shut. Cupcake? Where have I heard that before?
