Ah, the day after moving into a new house. It been a shit ton of work; moving from Phoenix, Arizona to Los Angeles, California with my parents and my older brother. And to think, the only reason we had to move was because of my dad getting promoted. The good thing is his work paid for the move and he'll be getting paid more doing...whatever it is he does. The house is super nice: 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and a nice green backyard.

I start my new school in a few days and I'm really nervous. I can feel my anxiety starting to act up just thinking about dealing with a new school. I miss my old friends even though I only had like two. I'm thinking about going out and exploring around my new neighborhood a bit...get a feel of the new neighborhood.

After about 10 minutes of debating on wether or not to go, I looked at my clock, which read 3:42 p.m. and finally decided to grab my favorite hoodie so I can go for a walk. I slip the hoodie over my shirt and tie my blonde and purple hair into a ponytail. "Bye mom. Bye dad," I call as I start to walk out the door. "Where are you going, sweetie?" mom asks. "I'm just going to go explore the neighborhood," I call back. "Have fun and be safe" my dad called. I said "Thanks, I will," as I closed the door behind me.
I stepped outside and looked around for a moment. Since it was autumn, the bright orange and yellow leaves of the trees seemed to glow in the mid afternoon sunlight.

As I was walking along the sidewalk I must have gotten lost in my thoughts, because as I was walking, I got knocked over when I bumped into someone. "Oh shit, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?!" a male voice with an Australian accent said as I tried to realize what had just happened. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's my fault," I said as I got up and dusted myself off. I looked up and saw a very tall boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes standing in front of me. He was wearing black, ripped skinny jeans, a red flannel, and a red snapback, that was placed backwards on his blonde hair.
I just stared at him for probably longer than I thought I should have.

Finally I snapped out of it and said, "Sorry.. my name is Crystal. What's yours?" "Luke," he replied with a slight smirk, as he put out his right hand. I shook his hand and he said, "I haven't seen you around before." We let go of each other's hands as I replied, "I just moved here from Arizona."
He smiled and said "Well then.. welcome to California, Crystal... nice hair!"
"Thank you," I giggled as I stared up at him. His piercing blue eyes seemed to burn holes into my skin. "I'm sorry, I should really get going" I said after a few minutes had passed. "Oh okay," he said, "Maybe I'll see you around?" "Yeah, for sure," I replied with a smile. We waved and continued on our separate ways.

When I got home, it was about 7 p.m. Damn, I didn't mean to be out that long.
I walked through the door and my family was sitting at the table eating spaghetti. "You're home!" exclaimed my mom as she got up and hugged me. "How was your walk?" asked my dad as he took a bite of spaghetti. "It was fun," I replied as I hugged my mom back. "I met a boy," I said as my mom and i took our seats at the table. "A boy, huh?" asked my dad. "Yeah, his name is Luke. He lives a few blocks down and.. I think he's Australian," I replied. There was a pause as everyone took a bite of spaghetti. "How nice!" exclaimed my mom. "How old is he?" my brother asked. "I think he's the same age as me," I answered after I swallowed the spaghetti I was chewing. "Oh cool." he replied. I think he might have hoped that Luke would be closer to his age than mine. David is only two years older than me, but he was more upset about the move than I was, which isn't that surprising. He was planning his life to always be put in Arizona, but financially he depends on my parents.. so he had to tag along.
After we finished our dinner I did the dishes and decided to shower and go to bed. In 3 days I start school.. I almost have a panic attack just thinking about it...
