"So, are you ready for tomorrow," Luke asked when we were half way to my house. "Not really, I'm actually really nervous," I chuckled. "You'll be fine, and if you ever have trouble with anything, just let me know," Luke replied. "Thank you Luke, I really appreciate everything," I said with a smile. We were slowly starting to approach my house, so I took out my phone and texted my mom that Luke was walking me home and that I was almost there. I saw that the time was 6:59. I could see the front door of my house starting to open. "Well, that would be my mom," I said, breaking the silence. "Oh okay," he said as we got closer to the house.
We walked up to the front door. "Hey mom," I said and hugged her. "You're right on time! And this must be Luke," my mom said. "Oh, yeah. Luke this is my mom, mom this is Luke," I said. "It's nice to meet you Luke," my mom said as she stuck out her hand. Luke shook my mom's hand and awkwardly said "It's nice to meet you too uhh.. Crystals mom.." My mom laughed and said, "Call me Marie."
"Okay.. it's nice to meet you Marie."
We all stood there for a minute when I decided to break the silence. "Thank you so much for walking me home Luke," I said and hugged him for a quick second. "It was no problem at all. And it was so nice to meet you Marie," Luke said.
"It was nice meeting you too," said my mom. "Yeah , I'll see you at school. And thank you again," I replied with a smile. He waved and we went inside.

"Well, he seems really nice," my mom said as she shut and locked the door. "He is. And his friends are pretty cool too, we all go to the same school," I replied. "Oh okay, good to know," mom said. "I should probably head to bed... I have a big...long day tomorrow," I said as I started walking upstairs. "Okay sweetheart, just don't think about it. You'll be fine honey," she replied. "I love you," I yelled, only loud enough where she could hear me. "I love you too sweetheart," she called back.
I walked into my room and shut the door behind me. "You'll be okay," I thought to myself, "everything will be just fine. No one will even notice you."

I took all my regular clothes off and put on a grey tank top and black sweat pants, then I went to take off my makeup and wash my face. After that, I ran downstairs, said goodnight to everyone, and went back to my room so I could try to get some sleep.
Then, Luke texted:

Luke: You ready for tomorrow??
Me: Not even close
Luke: I'm sure you'll be fine, wanna meet up before first bell??
Me: Sure! That would be great
Luke: Alrighty.. you should probably try to sleep
Me: You're right, goodnight Luke
Luke: Goodnight, sleep well

And with that, I turned off my phone and tried to sleep.

~the next morning~

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP *slap*
"Shut uuuup," I half yelled at my alarm and slowly sat up on my bed and rubbed my eyes. Who thought it was a good idea to start school so early in the morning? Just as I was about to stand up and start getting ready there was a light knock on my door and my mom opened my door. "Morning honey," she said. She was already ready to go to work. Luckily we had enough notice that we would be moving for mom to have already found a job out here in LA.
"Morning mom," I said, tiredness in my voice. "Are you doing okay," mom questioned. "I'm fine... just really nervous," I replied. Mom gave me a sorry look, "You'll be fine, hun. At least you already made a few friends," she said. "That's a good point," I replied.
"Alrighty, well, I have to get going," mom said "I can't be late for work and you need to get ready for school."
"Okay, I love you mom.. thank you," I said as I hugged her. "I love you too hun, you'll be fine," she said as she walked out of the room. I took a deep breath in and out.
"I can do this," I said.

I walked out of my room to the bathroom so I could wash my face and brush my teeth. Then I went back to my room, rubbed on some deodorant, took off my pjs and changed into an army green long sleeve shirt and a pair of black ripped jeans, and sprayed perfume on my wrists and neck. I grabbed my hair brush and untangled my messy bed head and sprayed a little bit of perfume in my hair and whipped in back and forth. I parted my hair the way I wanted it and brought the purple ends forward. Then I did my eyebrows, eyeliner, and mascara.
I grabbed my book bag, made sure I had everything I needed; earbuds, charger, pencils, extra perfume and deodorant, and basic school crap. I put on both straps then stared into the mirror.
"I can do this. It's just school." I said.
Then I heard my phone start buzzing. "Who could that be," I thought. I grabbed my phone and looked at the caller ID; it was Luke. I tapped "accept call" and put the phone up to my ear. "Hey Luke," I said. "Have you left your house yet," he asked. "Not yet, I was going to slip on some shoes then head out, why" I replied. "Just wondering if you would be interested in walking with me," he said. "Yeah, that'd be cool, let me get shoes on and I'll walk to your place," I said. "Sounds like a plan, I'll see you in a bit," he said. "Okay, bye," I said. I grabbed no show socks and slipped them on, followed by a pair of checkered slip on Vans.

As I was walking out of my room I ran into my brother. "Morning Daniel," I said as I shut my door. "You need a ride to school?" he asked. "No, I'm good, Luke is walking with me," I replied. He seemed surprised and said, "Oh, okay. See you at school then?"
"Yep, love you brother."
"Love you too sis," he replied.

I went over to the dinning table where my dad was eating oatmeal. "I'm heading to school, dad. I'll see you later," I said as I hugged him and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Alright sweetheart, be safe. I love you," he said. "Love you too dad," I said as I walked out the door.

I'm glad Luke's house wasn't too far away; the last thing I need is to be all sweaty on the first day. Before knocking on the door, I grabbed my perfume and lightly sprayed more on myself, just in case. A few seconds after I rang the bell, Luke opened the door. "Bye guys, love you," he called to his parents before he closed the door. "Hey Crystal," he said with a smile. "Hey," I replied, my nerves starting to go crazy; apparently he could tell. "You good?" he asked as we start led walking. "Yeah.. I'll be fine. I just have anxiety and it gets bad in certain situations. Like, when I meet new people or when I'm about to do something I've never done before or when I'm talking to a big group of people," I explained. "Oh... anything I can do," he asked kind of awkwardly. "It would actually be great if you were by my side at all times, so I have a familiar face," I laugh.
He chuckles and we start walking. "If I could, I 100% would," he said.
