"What are you doing out here in the rain? 1st period already started and Ms.Praline sent me to find you." A soft voice called.

I didn't answer. I knew who it was, and they need to go away.

"Are you okay?"it asked.

"Get out of here, away from me. I want nothing to do with you. I know exactly what your motives are. Even if they aren't correct, you're only after my looks. I'm telling you now, I'm not as pretty as my face. But I know you, being such a big character around here."

"What are you talking about? When I say I love you I mean it."

"You don't get it Laurance. You just want a title, more fame. I've figured you out. I'm the crazy girl no one wants to talk to. If I were your girlfriend, you'd be seen as the hero. I can imagine it, everyone would know you as a hero because you brought the dark girl out of her crazy phase. You'd be saving me from myself? If you want to think I'd ever hook up with you ,you're a clueless pretty boy."

"Why do I even bother? You're right, I am clueless, but I wouldn't use you."

"Doesn't matter. Even if you meant to do it or not, it would still happen. The students here spread rumors like wildfires. The story would still be the same, so BACK OFF!"

"What do you want me to tell Ms.Praline?" He asked.

"Just tell her that I'll see her at lunch and I have to talk to her about something. Bribe her to forgive my absence, but I can't go into public right now. Give me your hoodie, I promise I'll return it when I get to the cafe."

"Fair enough and I guess so..even if you don't think I care about you Aph, I do." He said taking of his black jacket, handing it to me.

Hmph. Laurance, the boy from the Orphanage.

Laurance was apart of the terrific trio. He had wavy, light brown hair, soft to the touch. His light blue eyes could melt any girl's heart. I hate that. We weren't friends, at least not now. Once upon a time, we were best friends. But ever since the event, my very soul has been tainted. I'm a completely different person than I was at the age of 12. I can't believe I've managed to survive to be 18 years old. I can't even believe I've survived to be a senior.

"I know you have some things going on, but skipping isn't an option."

"Ms. Praline, I'm sorry. But you should know, it wasn't my fault. Katelyn had-" I was going to speak, but something caught my eye. There was Katelyn, right outside the door signaling for me to shut up.

"Ms.Praline, I had hurt my leg very badly on my way to class. I needed some time to recover from my injury. I'm very sorry..."

"It's quite alright Aphmau, I understand. You may go." She responded sweetly.

Walking out of the classroom, I headed to the cafeteria. I ignored all the stares from my fellow students. Walking into the cafe, I headed towards the "popular" table. Basically the one place where all the popular kids like to hang out. I walked up to Laurance, about to take of his jacket when I was lifted off the ground by it.

"What do we have here? A raspy voice asked.

"Garroth, put me down..."

"Why would I do that? You're in my territory and you don't belong here."

"Oh really? Did you know that your best friend over there is expecting something from me? What if I told you it's the jacket you're currently about to rip?!"

"Laurance, is this true? Do you dare to be associated with this, this girl?"

I slipped out of the jacket and ran threw the halls, trying to get anywhere besides the cafeteria. Why can't they just learn to leave me alone? No, those guys don't know how much I suffer at home. They think it's okay to mess with me.

I wasn't paying attention and ran into someone.

Dark hair, dark eyes. Red sweatshirt wide open, revealing his 6-pack.

Great, the next babe-magnet....

Wait, no. There's a negative energy, I can sense it. A..lost...family member. Hmm..no. ..

Staring deeper into his eyes, I saw it. This horror, sense of fear in his eyes. It's strong and frightening.

"I'm really sorry, I wasn't paying attention..."he said in a deep tone, strong but light and full of air.

"Y-you lost your brother and your mother..to a car crash....your father disappeared and now you live alone, working 3 jobs a day with the addition of school. You have been living this way for about 2 years now...Also, you're new here...."

"W-w-wa- how did you get...how did you get all that information? This is the first time I've ever even seen you..."he said, fear filling his voice.

"Wow, you really are new. Go talk to someone else, I don't have any time for this." I said walking away.

This could be fun, he's harboring a lot of strong emotions...delightful. But, that's over now that he's gonna go ask about me. Eh, I guess I could potentially listen to the actual 'legend' behind my name.

I watched the guy walk off towards the cafeteria.

Oh no. Cafeteria equals lots of girls plus guy with 6-pack that has no shirt on under his hoodie means....a bunch of fangirls....

I snuck down into an air vent, crawling through the tunnels, following that guys footsteps. He finally stopped at the popular table. Figures...

Walking up to Garroth he said "Hey, my name is Aaron and I'm new here."

"Nice to meet you, why don't you sit down?"the blonde replied.

"Sure. I have a question for you. There was a girl I saw in the hallway. She had raven black hair and caramel eyes. Do you have any idea why people seem to be so afraid of her?"

"Ah, Aaron you encountered Aphmau, she's a freaky girl. Pretty crazy actually. The story is that she was born a crazy kid and that she does self harm. Others think she's always on drugs. But I think she's just putting on a show. No one likes her, like she literally has no friends. Stay away from Aphmau if you want to keep a good reputation."the blonde said, a wide smile stretching across his face.

Aaron just nodded his head down"Oh, okay then.."

This was just pathetic. Being that I was above them, laying against the ceiling, I found an easier way out of my escape route.I started pounding on the boards, trying to bust through, into the room. Once I did, I hung my feet from a pipe and hung upside down.

"So those are the lies going around? You are all arrogant fools. Ever stop to think I just want to be left alone, huh? God, I never thought you could be so dense, Garroth."

Garroth grabbed me from my place and hubg me up in the air by my sweater.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? I thought I told you not to come back into our territory!"

Swinging around in the air, I flipped myself over, kicking Garroth in the back and sitting on top of him.

"As long as you guys are going to be idiots,I can come here all I want. The only person here I'm not mad at is ol' Abs-Magee over here because he's new!" I said pointing a finger at Aaron. I gave him a little wink before running back through the hallway I went to previously. I ran to the front doors and out into the parking lots. Running on the jogging trail, I headed towards my neighborhood. As much as I don't want to be there, school is far worse.

I ran to the attic, the place only I could get to. My Father wouldn't be able to get up here because the entrance was hidden. The attic was my safe haven, the place I went to after a beating to hide.I laid my head against a wall and fell asleep.
