"Are you both dating?" this was the question we heard almost every day when we were new comers, after that our teachers, parents, friends and family became used to of our attitudes and stopped asking this question; that was the most irritating for both of us. But whenever some new person met us, he won't stay without asking this question. Same happened today when we were travelling to Hunan, a guy came and sat between us while we were in train. I was sitting in the middle and Tao was sitting at the side of window, that guy came and sat on the seat with me, Tao stood up and ask me to stand as well and shuffled our seats, that guy noticed that and asked, "I'm sorry... but are you dating?" he said looking at our hands searching for something, maybe couple rings, "No!" Tao answered shortly as he looked out of the window. After some time the hostess came to check our tickets, Tao took both of our tickets and showed them to her, that guy kept noticing us. We didn't talk much during the whole journey; we were travelling from Hunan to Beijing for martial arts training. Our families won't have met if they never had a misunderstanding that Tao and I shared the same interests, I don't know why but having one common trait was way too irritating for both of us.
One day I returned from the college and found my umma and appa discussing something and they suddenly fell quiet when I entered, "Yuri!" my dad called me. I went to the lounge after putting my bag on the bed, "Ne appa?" I asked as he asked me to sit, "Yui you were interested in martial arts?" my mom asked as I nodded, I knew what would have happened. Tao just talked about martial art in the class and he would have discussed it with his parents and they would have told my parents, "Okay then you and Tao will go together to Hunan! Tao's father's friend is the coordinator at Hunan Institute of Martial Arts!" she said as I got irritated, "Can't I just go alone? Why do you always send me with that freak?" I said as I got up angrily and came to my room. "Pack up quickly! You're leaving tomorrow!" my dad spoke from downstairs. I held my head for a moment and then started packing up as I could not take my dad's anger and my mom's beating.
***TAO POV***
I came back from college and discussed about martial arts with my parents and my dad called his friend and asked some details and I went to my room to change. My mom had prepared the lunch, she called me. I came down when she was putting dishes on the table and my dad was just greeting someone on the phone and closed the phone. He looked back at the stairs and found me coming down, "Come Tao! I was waiting for you!" he said as we gave a high five and I sat on the chair beside him, "Wae?" I asked. "You and Yui are..." He spoke as I interrupted, "Not going for martial arts training together!" I said raising my eyebrows as if I was warning. "O'No my son both of you are going together!" he said as he smiled sarcastically and patted my back and my mother came and sat with us for lunch, "But I want to go alone! I don't want to take someone else's responsibility!" I said straight forwardly as I picked my chop sticks. My mother giggled as my dad raised his head, "Tao she's a grown up girl!" she said, "O'You don't say!" I said sarcastically as I narrowed my eyes. "I'm not taking her with me!" I said again, "Yes you are!" my father commanded. "Fine then I'm not going anywhere! It's better to stay at home instead of joining such a company!" I said as I emptied my bowl, "Yes you are!" my father said looking angrily at me, I got up frustrated and went to my room and banged the door, I stood there angrily folding my arms for some moments and then started packing up. I called Yui, "Please ask your parents that you don't want to go with me!" I said to her straight forwardly, "Like I'm dying to go with you! I already asked them but they won't listen to me!" she said. "Why were you even born?" I said sarcastically as I was angry, "Because my parents wanted me to! Bye!" she said angrily as she closed the phone and I knew she never wanted to go with me too...
