Hate U, Love U

Chapter 5:

It's been a month and ever since we came here we heard this question from almost everyone, "Is she your girlfriend? Is he your boyfriend? Are you both dating?" and we were sick of saying that we were just class fellows who had nothing in common except giving space to others. I was reading a book as Tao sat on the table playing games on his tablet, the prefect came, "How are you guys doing?" he asked as we raised our heads, "Good!" I said smiling as Tao gave a thumbs up. He smiled back, "Can I sit with her?" he asked Tao as he nodded and he came around and sat in the empty place beside me, "Since when are you guys like this?" he asked as we raised our heads and passed looks and Tao raised his eyebrow, "I mean... you both look quite attractive while you're together... as if you had a strong relation and... understand each other quite well..." he said as we looked at each other, "What's your name?" Tao asked as I got busy reading the book again, "Zhang Yi Xing... you can call me Lay!" he said as he stretched his hand towards Tao and he shook it powerfully, "Nice to meet you friend! But for your information... we are not dating..." he said as Lay got a little embarrassed, I looked at him and then at Tao, "Don't be embarrassed hyung! You're not the first one... we are facing these kind of questions since childhood!" Tao said patting on his shoulder, "Anyways I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding!" he said as he nodded and looked down, "Which book are you reading?" he asked as he bent forward, I handed him the book, "Palm study!" I told him smiling, "You like these kind of books? I've got lots of them!" he said excitedly, "Would you like to read them?" he asked, "Sure! Why not!" I said as Tao didn't take part in the conversation, "And how many other books do you have?" he asked as I told him the list of books I had. It was now off time. We all greeted each other and went to our ways, I and Tao were talking on our way when someone called him and he asked me to walk to the home carefully and he'll follow later. I opened the book and read it on the way back; the book was so interesting that I didn't realize that I was being followed. I felt like someone grabbed my shoulder and made me turn around and next moment Tao lifted a guy into the air and another guy laid on the ground bleeding, it felt as if I was made to turn to see all this. Suddenly I recognized those guys, those were the guys on whom I sprayed my soft drink. Tao was done with beating, one of them raised up as Tao came and stood with me, "So she's YOUR girl!" he said smirking through his bleeding mouth as Tao was about to jump over him but I held his arm. He looked at me angrily and held my wrist and walked home angrily, he opened the door and threw me into the hall. I dropped on the couch as he came near me and grabbed the book in my hand and held it from the middle, "Tao don't..." I yelled as he tore the book into half, "What don't?" he yelled as he put his one leg on the couch and grabbed my arms and looked down into my eyes, I could feel blood in his eyes, "How many times have I told you to stop reading while you're on the way but you're one stupid chic who don't gives a fuck to whatever anyone says!" he said as he shook me hard and then banged me on the couch again. He rose up and rushed to his room and banged the door, his anger was one of those things I was afraid of. I laid there shocked for a moment, I rushed at my book as a tear rolled down my face. I heard the door opened upstairs, I looked back and Tao stood there. I picked the scattered pages and rushed to my room as I looked at them hopelessly and thought of some miracle to happen so that it can be repaired again...

***TAO POV***

I came out to make some tea and found her sitting on the floor looking at the scattered pages, she looked back and I saw her wet eyes. I felt guilty for her as she bought that book from the salary she got on the cooking day. She picked the pages and went to her room. I went to the kitchen to make tea, I finished the tea and it was the time when she would have been sleeping. I opened the door carefully and picked the pages lying on her side table and came out quietly... ***END OF TAO POV***
