"Grandma! Tell me the story about how you and grandpa met again please?!" The old woman smiled indulgently at her youngest grandchild who was bouncing up and down, his raven black hair and bright green eyes reminding her so much of beloved husband. "When I first met him I was going to school and offered to help him with the subway since he looked lost." A far away look clouded over her face as a smile appeared reminiscing on the past she treasured so much. Before she could continue a young man walked into the small house, he was the perfect young replica of his deceased father. With his confident stride he crossed the room over to his mother, "how are you doing mom?" His deep voice bringing a sense of comfort to the old fragile looking woman, ever since he was young he was exactly like his father. From his looks to the family business that he now ran, even though Alex had told him time and time again to do something legal he was determined to take over the legacy left by his father before him.

"Come on Kei, we need to get home and grandma needs to get her rest." The little boy nodded and gently hugged his grandma as if she were the most precious thing on the planet. "Bye grandma! I'll come back to see you soon." The little boy sang before jetting out the front door to the waiting car out front. "How are you really doing mom?" The male's eyes turned back to the  woman who was slightly reclined on the sofa with a rather fluffy cat sitting on her lap. "Oh you know, the doctor says I'm old. That I need my meds, and that I may not have much more time left. The same old same old." She chuckled the smile lines near her eyes crinkling, she was almost always smiling and if she wasn't already she was about to. Felipe knew she was still hurting from the recent passing of his father but didn't want to bring up the subject while his mother was smiling. He felt like the luckiest man alive to have such amazing parents, they raised him with the most love and support anyone could hope for.

His uncle would babysit him once a week so his parents had time to themselves, and he got to eat all the pastries a kid could want. He hugged his mom one last time before leaving the house and climbing into the waiting car outside, Kei was already buckled up and ready to go. His adorable five year old looked just like himself and his grandpa before him, a powerful image seems to run in the family blood. But just like his grandmother he has a strong personality, thankfully he didn't get anything from his mother. Had he known that she was only after his money he would never had married that woman, the only good thing that came from that marriage was Kei. It always broke his heart when Kei would ask if he could have a mom like his grandma, in truth that was exactly what he had wanted for his son a loving mother who would stay no matter what. But all he got was a lying cheating money grabber who ran off with her boyfriend, now he was raising his son all alone with a broken heart.

Signaling the driver to go the sleek black SUV pulled out of the driveway. All the way home Kei chattered on about the fun he had at his grandma's, they played and made drawings and even gave Mr.cuddles the cat a bath. Mr.cuddles had to be the best cat on the planet, he wasn't afraid of baths and never harmed a living creature in his life. He was an incredibly lazy but good cat, he was a walking fur ball but he was good company for Layla and that's all that mattered. When they arrived home a few men were walking out of the mansion, it was exactly how it was when his parents were in their prime. There were minor fixes to the security and a few areas that had to be repaired from bullets but nothing major. He remembered growing up here and all the fun he and his parents would have, his mother would tell him stories about when she met his father and his father would tell him stories about how his mother was the bravest woman he knew.

His uncle Jackson used to play video games with him and they would prank other members that were in the mansion. But sadly such calm days were in the past, there was a uprising gang in town and they were slowly trying to take away business from Felipe's group. So when he had some 'business' to attend to he would drop Kei off with his grandma and get work done before dinner. Felipe always made it a point to have dinner with his son, it could be a gang war and he would still make it to eat with Kei. Playing the roll of two parents was hard but nothing he couldn't handle, after Keis mother left he swore he would give Kei the best childhood one parent could give. They went on vacations, played, cooked, even went shopping together. Even if they never really bought anything when they went shopping they still people watched and went to the food court. All in all they spent good quality father and son time together, and now Felipe was looking into getting Kei a pet so he would have a sleeping buddy to keep the bad dreams away.

He thought about getting him a cat like Mr.cuddles but the chances of finding a sweet cat like that was nilch to none. A dog would be good too but he didn't want to have to potty train it. And a fish is such a lame pet that he only considered it for five seconds. While pondering what pet to get he followed Kei into the mansion to the dinning room for dinner, they quickly navigated the halls and arrived shortly after. The chefs already had everything out on the table and waiting, the mouthwatering aromas invaded their senses as they quickly sat in their chairs and got ready to dig in. Just before Felipe could take a bite of food a few men in dark suits came barging in the room with guns drawn.

A/N: so how do you like it so far? Yes this is it for chapter one. I'm just that evil *mwahahaha* but srsly I'm sorry Alex is dead, It was really hard for me since I'm so attached to my characters but I did it and cried the whole time. My mom is now worried for my health......😅
