Hot Topic

I always hear stories of how us emo trash people will take their parents into Hot Topic and their parents will be horribly confused or horrified by everything

That's never been the case for me

Let me explain

The first time I dragged my parents into Hot Topic it went like this

Me: Hey I heard that Hot Topic place is neat (is low key trying to get parents in there)

Mom: *looks at store* Yeah it looks cool lets go

Then once we actually get inside this is what happened

Me: *overwhelmed by all the amazing merch as usual*

Dad: Is that Doctor Who stuff? I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!

Mom: Oh that's a really cute dress wow look at that sweater oh these earring are cute KARAINA THERE IS HARRY POTTER STUFF

Dad: IS THAT GREEN DAY? I LOVE GREEN DAY OMG

Me: I'm gonna go check out the TØP shirts

Dad: That Tøp shirt is cool. I like the design. can I get them to design me a shirt?

Me: If you can get TØP to design you a shirt I will love you forever

Mom: Why does all this stuff have like pentagrams on it?

Me: That's the supernatural stuff mom

Mom: Oh I've seen that show?

Me: REALLY!?!???

Mom: Yeah but you can't get the pentagram stuff because you know religion

Me: dang it

Dad: I LOVE THIS SONG THEY'RE PLAYING WHAT BAND IS IT *is rocking out*

Me: Dad this is Bring Me The Horizon (Drown was playing)

Dad: I LIKE THIS BAND

Mom: KARAINA THEY HAVE GRYFFINDOR SCARVES

Me: MOM YOU'RE A RAVENCLAW

Mom: I KNOW BUT YOU'RE A GRYFFINDOR

Me: I KNOW THAT

Then we get to the checkout

Cashier: (who was totally like punk rock af) did you find everything okay?

Me: Yeah

Mom: She wanted to buy everything

Cashier: *laughs* Most of the people who come in here do

Dad: Man, the music you guys have playing in here is sick

Me: *giggles* Sick as frick

Cashier: *smirks at my reference* I'm glad you think so, sir. Most parents are scared by the music.

Dad: Oh, I love this kind of music.

Mom: So do I. Not the screaming, but the guitars are cool.

So basically I think my parents are low key emo trash like me
