Blue Lagoon

come away with me

heads thrown back as we drift blindly
chapped lips pulled into a grin
and blue eyes
swallowed by the night

we could run away from here,
take to the sky like indigo sparrows
down-feathers painted a twilight hue,
we'd coast through constellations

waltzing atop soft cotton clouds
come darling- just dance with me,
February's breeze might chill our toes
but you are all that's on my mind

in March's moonlight, swim with me
slowly we'll dip a scar-striped body
sending ripples across a crystal pond,
reflecting love in the blue lagoon

while goosebumps powder our skin
like blackbirds flesh against white sky,
speckled maroon upon an inky night
but you are all that's on my mind

constantly,
you occupy my day to day dream
chasing away my memories,
taking away the hauntings
and you can steal
my heart
and you can have
my soul

just come away with me
