Soon, the Herald knew the man's name. Dorian. He was an interesting man. Alexander liked interesting people. And Dorian seemed interested in him as well.

After dealing with things in Redcliffe, Alexander went back to Haven with his companions and the newest recruit, Dorian. Most people didn't want him to join, but Alexander had convinced them that he was a well suited mage.

He was a very talkative man. Whenever things went silent, he had always brought up something to talk about to break the comforting silence. Alexander found him adorable and funny. The others? Not so much. Dorian would sometimes get into trouble with the others, probably letting his tongue slip and say something idiotic.

Alexander began to talk to Dorian more than he spoke to others. They became close friends. They enjoyed the walks and talks that they had began to have together. "So," Dorian started, walking beside Alexander as they strolled around Haven. "How was it like? To be out and traveling almost daily?" Alexander played with a small blade in his hands, twirling it slowly. "Honestly, it was quite boring. It was only interesting when we moved near the settlements. And that rarely happened." The elf spoke quietly, glancing over to Dorian then back at the small blade. "Hm."

They went quiet for a while as they walked out of Haven's walls, into a small wooded area. The trees were tall. Snow covered the leaves and dirt. Alexander shuddered at the cool air.

"Do you ever miss being with them?"

Alexander looked back, Dorian was leaning against a tree, quirking a brow at him. "Your people?" Did he? Alexander sat on a fallen tree, huffing quietly and rubbing his hands together. Dorian waited for an answer. "Well, no...and yes...but mostly no." The inquisitor stared down at his feet. He heard the soft crunch of snow as Dorian walked towards him. "Why not,if I may ask?"

The elf closed his eyes, sighing a puff of hot air. "The dalish...sometimes do bad and idiotic things. And that's what they did. Bad and idiotic things. To good people." He heard Dorian sit next to him and opened his eyes, glancing at the other.

Dorian was looking around at their surroundings, as if he had began to suddenly daydream. "So, are you happier here?" He finally looked at Alexander, but he looked as if he was searching for something. He brows were furrowed together, his eyes intense yet his face looked relatively calm. Alexander quickly looked away.

"I feel...calmer here. But more stressed-" Dorian patted the elf's back before letting his hand lay there. "Understandable. You were just an elf and suddenly you're being worshipped for things you barely understand. And now you're practically leading an army with others." Alexander nodded, sighing as Dorian began to rub circles on his back. The mage smiled. He laid his other hand on the elf's thigh.

"You must have such a stressful life nowadays..."
