Dark. Hard to breathe. What was happening? Why was it so cold? Why did he feel like...

The inquisitor woke with a start, taking in sharp breaths, coughing and hacking. He took in his surroundings. He was in the middle of nowhere. What had happened? He choked on his breath and pushed himself up. All around him were trees and snow. He was in a clearing though. The elf felt light headed and as he tried to walk forward, he fell to his knees and on his side. He lay there, shaking and curling up. He closed his eyes, trying to remember what had happened to him.

He could remember...screaming...fire...the demon...

Haven was destroyed, people dead. The red templars came from no where. They just...appeared. Alexander saved as many people as he could. Everyone...ran. He was left as a distraction. The Elder One...Corypheus. He attacked their Haven, only wanting Alexander. The mark on his hand. The anchor...

Alexander coughed himself awake once again, opening his eyes up half way, staring up at the sky. It was dark. Colder now. He needed to move. He needed to find his people. His friends. Alexander pushed himself up, standing on shaky legs. He could barely stand. It hurt. Everything hurt.

Alexander began to move, blindly. He didn't know where to go. He just kept moving, in hope of finding someone. Anyone. He followed random paths, finding small unlit campfires along his way. They were all cold. None of them used recently. But they were used. Hopefully by his people. Maybe he was close to them? All he could do was hope.

Days passed, Alexander kept climbing, walking, running, getting weaker. Yet he pushed himself onwards. His people needed him. ...did they? If they did, then why were there no search parties? Why were they not looking for him?

Alexander heard voices...somewhere behind the side of a rocky hill. He couldn't climb anymore. He couldn't. Alexander took in a sharp last breath as he fell to the hard cold ground, hearing muffled yells.
